Out of Their Element

This was too obtuse to follow. Keeping track of who offended who and how the retaliation occurred was really hard. The story brings us into the rap world as three kids are killed in a drive by while they were putting up posters. So we are introduced to the victimization when young people follow these stars who are dangerous.

The Rap Music World

When three teenagers are murdered while stapling posters, one on the tree and two on the ground. Grissom and Nick arrive at the crime scene and do not find any identification of the teenagers. Using the serial number of a rod of a custom hydraulic cylinder, they reach the name of Jeremiah Calvin and Nick and Warrick keeps his residence in stakeout. Soon they learn the rappers Dollar and Hi-Def have a beef, and the detectives and CSI team interview rappers, managers and crews to find the criminals.

"Poppin' Tags" is an episode of "CSI" in the rap music world. Most of the characters are non-charismatic, and the effects of a poor and outcast childhood is clearly shown in this sad episode. My vote is seven.

These Rappers Deserve A Rap.....In The Mouth!

In this episode, we see the Rap Culture in all its glory.

We have a drive-by shooting in which three young adults were killed while putting up posters. One of the killers was "stapled" by one of the victims and sent into a lockjaw medical condition for several days, so he can't talk. And, since drive-by shootings are hit fast and get out fast, why would one of the guys get out of the car? None of the victims had any ID on them, nor weapons.

Why they were killed and how many people were involved are the questions the CSI must solve. Along the way, they meet up with a number of bad-attitude punks, all connected to the "rap" business. To listen to these "artists" and others for a good share of program made it a long episode to endure. It does present a good example of how degrading that influence is on the culture. I am sorry the CSI people, along with "Jim Brass" weren't so wimpy in dealing with these thugs.
