The film was a creative collaboration between three sisters. Expectation marks Tracey's fifth film as a Director/writer, and was Adrienne's forth film as an actress. It was their first time producing together and collaborating on a film project. They are sisters. The composer, Aimee Wilkinson is their youngest sister, and this marks her first composing credit. Aimee wrote and performed three original songs that make up the soundtrack/score of the film. This is the first project the three sisters have collaborated on.
The film was originally titled "Girl Next Door", but the name had to be changed when a movie of the same name was released later that same year.
The music for the film is entirely original and includes three songs (New Kind of Pain, Embrace, and Eyes Open) that were written and performed by Aimee Wilkinson and produced by Pulse Studios Inc.
The first public screening of Expectation was at the "show Me" Missouri International Film Festival, in Springfield Missouri in March of 2006
While Expectation was edited, completed and screened for the first time in 2006; it was originally filmed in 2003.
