Blood the last vampire is not a classic and because of a smaller budget the CGI was not top notch, but it was good enough to not spoil the movie. I cannot comment how good this is compared to its original because i don't watch anime but i do recommend it for anyone who wants a simple movie with some good fight and action. If you can watch 300 then you can watch this since some of the fighting and blood are very similar. The acting is decent but do not expect academy award performances. The one problem i think you will find is the movie seems a bit rushed. its pace is like mashing all the lord of the rings movies into one. If the story was slowed down and possibly made into a trilogy with her fighting her nemesis at the end then this could have become the new blade.
