It's not all right Jack
sol121831 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
(Some Spoilers) It's when single and available Haley, Shannon Sturges, met the handsome and sure of himself Jack Collins, Dylan Neal, at a skiing resort that sparks started to fly in all directions. Jack in no time at all, like 24 hours, fell on his knees and proposed to a startled Haley who in seeing how desperate the guy is could only say yes. We soon gt to see what was behind Jack's love at first sight attraction to Haley. And it had nothing to do with him loving her. But it has everything to do with a 50 million dollar inheritance that Jack's granddaddy left him on the grounds that he's married and his wife produce a son for him, while grandpa is still alive, to carry on the family name or bloodline!

It take a while for Haley to realize her husband's sinister plans for her who feels that he's,in his strange and crazy actions, suffering from a case of burn out at the office. That's in Jack involved in a major merger in getting the Bearring Group to become part of his boss Franklin Devon, Philip Craig, brokerage firm. The fact that if Jack can somehow pull off Haley giving birth to a son before his grandpa, who's now in his 90's, kicks off he could buy Devon's company out from under him and demote him to be the official messenger or box boy as revenge for all the trouble,by pushing him around, he caused him at the firm.

The big problem that Jack has is that he's not up to, in him not having the right equipment, in being a father if you know what I mean. This became evident in that his first wife was found brutally murdered when she became aware of his condition and was going to make it public! Now desperate for Haley to provide him with a son Jack get's her drunk and has a surrogate, who's a real good friend of is, do the job for him that he can't do himself. With Haley now pregnant a happy Jack, in seeing dollars signs before his eyes, is shocked to find out that the baby may well be a girl instead of a boy! And with that,in grandpa not having long to go, he can kiss his 50 million dollars goodbye.

***SPOILERS*** Jack becoming more and more desperate by the minute tries to dump Haley and marry his personal secretary Michelle Fox, Natalie Brown, not for love but to have her provide him with a son before grandpa checks out together with his 50 million dollar inheritance. Jack goes so far as to have the pregnant Haley knocked off when she in revenge empties out all his bank accounts and screws up his chances to get a merger done for his boss, who by now just about had it with him, Franklin Devon.

It's now that Jack loses control of his senses and screws everything up after the hit-man, Randy Butcher, he hired through his good friend Johnny Smith, Alan C.Peterson, who in fact had his first wife murdered messed up knocking off his old lady, Haley, by knocking off Michelle instead by mistake! The by now committable Jack ends up where he always belonged behind bars for a triple murder, his first wife Michelle and Johnny, with only an insanity defense, which in his case should be successful, keeping him from being sent off to death row.

***MAJOR SPOILER*** The biggest irony to this sad and depressing movie is that Jack was so crazy that he jumped the gun before Haley gave birth to his,or the guy who did the job for him, child. If he just waited until then and not act both crazy and homicidal like he did all his problems would have been over!

The transformation of the husband was poorly done
just-an-amateur19 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The "change" from loving husband to narcissistic psycho was unbelievable. One wishes the writers had developed this transformation a little better.

Once we learn the reason for his transformation, i.e. his desperate desire for an heir to his father's fortune, we question the choices he has made up until that point. Knowing he needed a male heir, why choose an older woman, who had less chance for a healthy pregnancy? The choice of "wife" did not make much sense to me...

The best part of this movie was the surprise ending. It was a very satisfying ending to an otherwise, "so-so" movie.

Looks like it was made by first year film students
randy_kay9 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This film was SO ridiculous. It looks like the story was written by maybe a 13 year old boy. There's just no basis as to why the plot would ever even happen. This guy wants to meet a woman so he can have a 'son' because that is the stipulation for him to inherit a bunch of money from a relative. If that were the case, why would he not just knock up like 10 chicks and then marry the 1st one that has a boy and then give the rest of them alimony -- it just doesn't make any sense. Instead he becomes infatuated with a woman who's biological clock is ticking down -- it's just plain stupid. It's like something they run on the Women's Network for lonely secretaries to watch while cuddling their cats to make them feel 'lucky' they're single and not mixed up with a good looking but despicable man like this dude. Anyways, if you have nothing else to do it's sort of funny just because it's so bad. I was sorry to see that Tara Spencer-Nairn had to get roped into doing this but I guess if you're a Canadian actress you basically have to take anything that comes your way.

cradle of lies
lioness741 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I found this movie to be very intense, all the actors did a very good job portraying their characters. Jack Collins (Dylan Neal) was just a low down dirty scoundrel and he got what he deserved how could he deceive his wife in so many different ways. Michelle (Natalie Brown) you just had to get involved you thought you were so smart but you smartness went up in flames. Haley (Shannon Sturges) was very naive at first but finally wisdom kicked in and when it did she showed their behinds you don't mess with a scorned, pregnant woman with a head on her shoulder. She was able to figure everything out and to set in motion a plan to would destroy her evil evil husband and she and her child would be set for the rest of their lives. I loved this movie it was well written and the parts were played great by the actors. I am a fan of this movie and the actors who played the part.

I routed for the husband
guilfisher-16 December 2008
For in this silly movie the wife was most unattractive and looked like the husband's mother. Played by Shannon Sturges (saw her in another dis-likable movie) who goes around acting like a witch most of the time. Would make any husband want to leave her. Dylan Neal, a very handsome young looking husband does a good job. He favors a much younger girl, played by the pretty Natalie Brown. You don't blame him for going to her. Won't tell you the plot, but the wrong people win in this.

Watch our leading lady, Sturges, in the last scene. She doesn't even know how to hold the infant. Very clumsy. And you can also tell she and leading man, Neal, did not work well together. In their supposedly hot love scenes, it was all flat as bad champagne gone sour. No chemistry between them. She was cold as ice throughout the movie. Also the dimwit that played the detective, Martin Roach, wearing much too expensive clothes for a plain detective, always going around like he knew all about life. A boring actor attempting to be another Eddie Murphy in his black leather coats.

Don't waste your time on this clinker.
