Beavis and Butt-head have been assigned to the wood shop class. Hope you can stand the sight of blood because we got lot's of it. The shop teacher demonstrates how to cut a piece of wood on the table saw, which completely captivates our boys, so while the class works on their birdhouses, Beavis and Butt-head approach the still-running table saw and cut their own boards of wood. Finding it extremely enjoyable, they grab other objects to saw. Up to and including their safety goggles, books, the telephone, the teacher's lunch box, the first aid kit, the teacher's chair, but just as they prepare to saw his desk, the teacher finally notices what they're doing and threatens to kill them, but then he should have known better than to let Beavis and Butt-head anywhere near a table saw. Beavis suddenly becomes mesmerized by the saw's rapidly spinning blade and for some reason or another, attempts to touch it...big mistake. Beavis' finger is instant severed, drowning himself and the saw in blood. While Beavis screeches, as well as chuckles in pain, the teacher tries desperately to find the first aid kit and the phone to call an ambulance. Unfortunately he could locate neither since the morons sawed them in half. Eventually Beavis and Butt-head get to the hospital, and Beavis' finger is successfully reattached. Unfortunately, he chooses that finger to pick his nose, thus breaking it off again and restarting the blood flow. Note: in real life, I think such blood loss would either kill you or make you very sick. But Beavis and Butt-head are not real, only cartoon people, so different rules apply.
Woodshop is a great episode, but extremely violent. Almost to the point of being disturbing. Those of us who have cut ourselves on dangerous tools probably know what this feels like. Don't let this dissuade you from taking shop class in school, however. You can still learn a great skill, and after watching this cartoon, know exactly what NOT to do with a table saw. In fact, Beavis and Butt-head are excellent teachers in the 'what not to do' department. Whatever they do, you don't do. If you can find it, and blood doesn't bother you, or cartoon blood, then check out "Woodshop". When all is said and done, Beavis and Butt-head are a couple of cut-ups.
