Storyline
Did you know
- GoofsIn the scene where Newt is going to measure for the "Chill Zone," he asks Cory to help him. At first Cory is holding the main piece of the measuring tape, while Newt runs out with the "pull out end." Shortly, after cutting out to a conversation, Cory is holding the "pull out end" and then releases it, so his buddy Newt is the one caught by surprise when Cory releases his end of the measuring tape.

This is horrendous!!! I truly know what a bad sitcom is now!!!!
Recently I have poorly spent my time watching Disney channel shows, simply to review them. This was one I stumbled upon, and I think this might be a television low. The bubble gum humor featured on most Disney channel shows is pathetic, but this show is absolutely the worst! At least this episode is anyways. Maybe other episodes are genius, but after seeing this, it's kind of hard to imagine that. Clichéd, typical sit-com plot mixed with bad performances, along with characters that are just pathetic. One scene was slightly amusing where Cory falls down the stairs, simply because of how absurd it is, but then we get to the ending...possibly the dumbest ending to any sitcom episode ever!
In this episode of Cory in the House, Cory grows a crush on cheerleader Meena. In order to get her jealous, he pretends to have a crush on another cheerleader, Candy, who is crazy and peppy. When Candy finds out Cory doesn't really like her, she goes crazy. Meanwhile Newt, Cory's silly friend, wants to build a chill zone at the school to relax in.
Candy is played by Jordan Puryear, and she is supposed to be very peppy, but my goodness, her performance is too big to even fit on screen. It's like she did as over the top as she possibly could and it was awful. The musical number ending was rushed and braindead. Rondell Sheridan plays Cory's dad, and though there's nothing wrong with it, he came off kind of flamboyant in this episode, which isn't normally a trait of his character (Assuming they didn't totally rewrite him since That's So Raven). I'm not even going to go into detail and waste even more time on this....it's just awful.
What this show, and episode, is like, is a more ethnic reversed sex version of Hannah Montana.
My rating: BOMB/****. 30 mins. TVY
