Since Borstein first appeared on "Mad TV", one knew she'd run into some of the problems great talents encounter when trying to branch out eventually. Then "Family Guy" came along and brought her as much, if not more, notoriety than she ever received playing everything from little girls to elderly women and all in between (Regis Philbin!) in her sketch comedy.
In this terrific concert, she rips into song (from the Teddy Towne intro and later, as a whacked out Natalie Merchant), explains to the world out there exactly what "the breakdowns" are in show biz, relates growing up with many opinions about the television shows that shaped a large part of her outlook on our far from perfect society, unintentionally explains the vocal origins of "Miss Bunny Swan" (hint: it's a family member!), temporarily morphs into Charlize Theron (her "Monster" portrayal) and Renee Zellweger (a visual impression that has to be seen to be believed) and tells you exactly what bothers her about a certain formerly closeted female talk show host.
If your an Alex fan, you're going to love this. And Teddy Towne is very funny too (you'll never watch "Friends" the same way again when Jessica Hecht's tart tongued lesbian character is on screen!).
