Scooby Doo, Where Are You!
S2E4: Jeepers, It's the Creeper (1970)
The gang must investigate a mysterious green ghoul who has been robbing local banks. If you go through season two of the series then you're going to notice that the entire mood has changed since the first season. There are some obvious changes like the incredibly annoying song that is played during chase sequences. Another change is that it appears the producers wanted to make the kids more "hip" so we get scenes of them either in malt shops, dancing or a mixture of the two. None of these changes really made the episodes any better but there's still some charm to be had. It should go without saying but a large part of this episodes success is the villain, a green monster looking obviously like Frankenstein's creature. This monster is certainly the highlight of the film and we get some nice jokes along the way as well. This includes one scene where Velma loses her glasses only to have the rest of the gang leave her behind to deal with the monster on her own. Another running gag deals with a baby chicken who thinks Scooby is its mother. These scenes are certainly charming enough to overcome some of the weaker moments.
