As of August 2021 this episode remains the final official standard broadcast episode. However a further 7 mini charity specials for Comic Relief and Children In Need were televised (1997-2020), plus 3 lockdown shorts and an extended omnibus of these later in the Covid-19 pandemic. Dawn French also briefly appeared as Geraldine in Comic Relief 2021, predominately lip-syncing to Juice by Lizzo alongside real-life TV vicar Rev Kate Bottley.
Apart from the 2007 Comic Relief short, this episode is Emma Chambers's last TV appearance. She passed away 11 years later, aged 53.
Emma Chambers (Alice) and Hugh Bonneville (Rev Jeremy) starred with Hugh Grant (mentioned in the previous episode) in Notting Hill, which was also written by Dibley creator Richard Curtis.
Above Geraldine's desk is a picture of Johnny Depp - a throwback to the 1999 Comic Relief episode Celebrity Party.
Dawn French and Hugh Bonneville also starred together in Murder Most Horrid episode 4.4 'Confessions of a Murderer'.
