Another powerful ending.
callanvass21 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Hour one.

Live from Savannah, Georgia

Your hosts are Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko

Harlem Heat (W/Sister Sherri & Col. Parker) Vs Public Enemy

Harlem Heat wins. During the match, Elizabeth is shown looking for Randy Savage. Scott Hall & Kevin Nash taunt Harlm Heat as well. There were many distractions in this match, but it's still average at best. Public Enemy has grown on me.

**

Jeff Jarrett arrives to the building. The announcers act like he's part of the nWo. This was his WCW debut.

Nick Patrick says he's giving Randy Savage a one million dollar fine for placing his hands on him. He's also pushing for Savage to be suspended

Diamond Dallas Paige Vs Jim Powers (W/Teddy Long)

DDP wins with the Diamond Cutter. This was a glorified squash match to give DDP some momentum.

*

Randy Savage cuts a promo about Halloween Havoc. Miss Elizabeth runs out to try to talk to Randy, but Savage declines to talk to her.

Meng & The Barbarian (W/Jimmy Hart) Vs High Voltage

Meng & The Barbarian win. This was a basic squash match that I don't have much to say about.

*

Glacier Vs Mike Wenner

Glacier wins in another squash match.

Hour two.

Your hosts are Eric Bischoff, Mike Tenay & Bobby Heenan

Jeff Jarrett Vs Hugh Morrus

Jarrett wins with the Figure Four. I'm not a big Jeff Jarrett fan. His debut on Nitro felt like a flop to me. He didn't receive that big of a reaction.

*1/2

Jeff Jarrett says Hogan dissed some of the greatest promoters in wrestling history. Hulk Hogan and the nWo can stick it.

Arn Anderson (W/Woman) Vs The Renegade

Anderson wins with the DDT. This is a another glorified squash match, but more competitive than most.

Lex Luger Vs "Squire" Dave Taylor

Luger wins with the Torture Rack. Anderson attacks Luger with a steel chair after the match on Luger's way to the dressing room. Yet, ANOTHER squash match.

*

Rick Steiner (W/Scott Steiner) Vs Chris Beniot (W/Steve McMichael & Debra)

Rick wins after using McMichael's briefcase. This is some quality wrestling between these two. They got a chance to strut their stuff and they delivered. The finish protects Beniot.

**1/2

"Macho Man" Randy Savage Vs Ric Flair (W/Woman)

The match doesn't take place. The nWo assaults Ric Flair backstage. Hulk Hogan and The Giant attack Randy Savage while they force Miss Elizabeth to watch. Hogan drops several leg drops on Savage, and spray paints nWo on him. Hogan screams "I own you" at a distraught Elizabeth. A nWo monster truck appears to demolish the announcer's table set before Nitro goes off the air.

Thoughts: This was another riveting ending. Miss Elizabeth was absolutely fantastic as the vulnerable damsel in distress. Savage plays the sympathetic babyface perfectly. All praise aside, I do wish Savage would have gotten some momentum here, though. As riveting as the nWo attacks are, you have to give the face some momentum too. It gets to be a bit much sometimes.

5.5/10 overall.

They both look angry.
clayface917 August 2020
The show opens with Harlem Heat defending the Tag Team Championship against Public Enemy. Diamond Dallas Page takes on Jim Powers. Mike Tenay interviews Randy Savage and the Slim Jim racecar driver. High Voltage faces the Faces of Fear. Glacier takes on Mike Wenner. The debuting Jeff Jarrett faces Hugh Morrus. Tony Schiavone interviews Double J after the match. Arn Anderson faces the Renegade. Lex Luger takes on David Taylor. Rick Steiner faces Chris Benoit. The main event is Ric Flair defending the United States Championship against Randy Savage, however, the NWO ambushes Flair before the match and then destroys Savage. Not bad, but the NWO needs to get their comeuppance..
