The show started five minutes early, with The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) standing in the ring with chairs over The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags (Jerry Sags) and Brian Knobbs (Brian Yandrisovitz)) and High Voltage (Rage (Rob Knapik) and Kaos (Kenneth M. Stasiowski)), who they had presumably laid out. Hall and Nash then threatened commentators Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko (Larry Whistler) and dared The Faces of Fear (Meng Tonga Fifita and The Barbarian (Sione Vailahi) to come out. When they didn't, The Outsiders left to look for them. The Faces of Fear were waiting and ambushed The Outsiders, leading to a brawl that spilled outside the arena.
The show ended with a confrontation between "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and WCW Executive Vice President Eric Bischoff, where Bischoff hugged Hogan to join the New World Order, thus confirming the heel turn that had been teased for weeks.
Featured Ric Flair naming Jeff Jarrett the newest member of The Four Horsemen (Flair, Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit and Steve McMichael, with Woman (Nancy Daus-Sullivan) and Debra McMichael).
