This episode and the episode before show the history of Tony Tony Chopper, and it is quite an emotional roller coaster. This is the second of 2 parts, and shows the final moments of Chopper's first sensei, Dr. Hiriluk. The moment where Hiriluk gives his speech at the top of the mountain and all that follows are some of the most powerful moments in ALL of animation in my opinion, and this in particular actually shaped me to be the person I am today. I am not joking.
If you aren't planning to sit through this entire anime to get to this point, just make sure you watch this episode and the one before it (watch the previous one first obviously....). Not only is it bittersweet, but it actually gave me a more positive outlook on life. Death used to scare me a lot, but when I first saw this episode at age 12, I felt a sense of comfort that I rarely see in any kind of media. It's hard to explain, but you will understand when you see it. This episode is a must see for any animation lover. I would even consider it among the very best of One Piece. Bring the box of tissues!
