First off, I can not began to understand what theses women have been through, just to loose a husband or lover would be bad enough, but to add in children who will live without their father and to loose them in the way they did would just be horrible. Personally I don't know if I could ever forgive or get past losing someone I loved in that way. Also I respect immensely what they have and are doing for the women of Afghanistan. But I do have a issue with their stance on the Afghan war, to equate 9/11 to our attacks on Afghanistan is ludicrous, whether you believe in war or not anyone should be able to see the clear difference between the two. What people forget is the United States told the Taliban and the Afghan government what it needed to do to avoid our retaliation. An ultimatum we had every right to make after 9/11 and proof that the terrorist were trained there. They did not respond and we could not allow these men to continue to be trained there and let loose on the world. I'm not saying that all people killed during the war were justified, in war bad things happen, and it is the United States and the United Nations job to help rebuild and provide for the people that remain and who were displaced or lost loved ones because of it. But let's remember we will never know how many future lives were saved by doing what we did and how many future attacks were prevented. OK, back to these women, I admire them deeply for not going into hiding and or depression after these horrible things happened to them. That they have stood up and become public figures and have opened their lives up for the world to see through this film is amazing. Their work and presence in Afghanistan is an example to the world of the kindness of the American people. One of the women in this film said that they wished they would not always have to be known as the 9/11 widows, but to me that is the very point. That the hatred and anger of 9/11 brought out the love and generosity of these women.
