In this episode we learn about the lobotomizing of the "tin jobs" and about the component that restricts their higher functions. In the series of Galactica novels produced after the first TV series it is learned that a centurion has the physiology for accommodating up to three brains. The soldiers have one brain and, the centurions have two brains. (Remember in the old series, the three cylon crew members of a raider have two soldiers and one centurion in command.) If a centurion does extremely well, it may be given a third brain. This is very rare as it provides a level of autonomy that could be dangerous. This is similar to what develops in the fourth season of this series.
Co-executive producer/"Six of One" writer, Michael Angeli was nominated in the 2008 Prime Time Emmy category, outstanding writing in a dramatic series.
