Sex & Nudity

- Women's breasts and bare butts are seen fairly often in the first season, somewhat less frequently in season 2, and noticeably less in seasons 3 and 4 which show women in bras and panties in most sex scenes. Full frontal nudity of women is infrequent and very brief. Full frontal nudity of men is not seen. Visible touching of breasts rarely occurs; there's no visible genital contact.
- Sex toys, mainly dildos, are rarely shown, but never to be used. Sexual conversations are mild and often vulgar. Sexual fetishes such as role-playing, bondage and domination are occasionally portrayed.
- This show is about the professional and personal life of a prostitute. The effect of the main character's job on her romantic and family relationships drives much of the story.
- Sexual activity is portrayed in every episode, mostly coitus, mostly involving one woman with one man. Scenes of fellatio and cunnilingus are much less frequent. On occasion, two women have sex with one man. In one episode, two women and two men are present; no male-male sex occurs. Sex scenes may last several minutes.
Violence & Gore

- A couple of times, a prostitute is shown to be endangered by a client.
- A character dies after having sex; the scene is not intense or gory.
- People are punched or slapped in just a couple of episodes.
Profanity

- Use of "f*ck" both as an expletive and in the literal sense is frequent but not pervasive. Other swearing occurs occasionally in most episodes. References to "pussy" or "cock" are almost never heard. "Whore" is often used.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Alcohol is consumed regularly. Characters are infrequently shown drunk. Pot is smoked on a few occasions. Cigarettes are smoked occasionally by some characters.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- Many relationship confrontations are intense, often with swearing and sometimes with crying.
- In season 4, one character is presented as dangerous and intimidating.
- A scene atop a tall building can be scary.
