The last time Paul McCartney was stuck alone in his house, his band of many years had broken up. It was the greatest show on the earth, for what that was worth, and fans and press camped out in front of each member’s places to catch any clues to what was going on. McCartney sequestered himself after the Beatles breakup but didn’t fall into any kind of creative abyss. Instead he immersed himself in the studio. He’s done it again. McCartney is his own Wingman and when the pandemic forced him into seclusion he called up the friends who don’t need masks. His arsenal of musical instruments. McCartney III will be out Dec. 11 on Capitol Records.

HanWay Films is handling international sales, distribution and marketing for multi-Grammy Award nominee and pop superstar Sia’s feature directorial debut “Music,” starring Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson.
The film also stars Tony and Grammy Award winner Leslie Odom Jr., alongside Sia protégé and breakout star Maddie Ziegler (the upcoming “West Side Story”).
Hudson plays a free spirit estranged from her family, who suddenly finds herself the sole guardian of her half-sister, played by Ziegler, a teenager on the autism spectrum, who learns that life’s obstacles can be made easier with a little help from their neighbour, Leslie Odom Jr.
HanWay Films managing director Gabrielle Stewart said, “Sia’s debut film ‘Music’ surpasses every expectation and she uses to extraordinary effect her own original music and dance sequences to present a bright alternative reality for her lead character Music, who is played with incredible delicacy by the talented Maddie Ziegler,...

After years of fussing, I would have never believed that I'd miss the pushy crowds, the long lines for merch, and the awful singing by the group standing next to me. But I do miss it all - a lot. I've been to more concerts than I can count (it has to be over 50), and the experience of live music is like no other. It's a chance to see your favorite artist up close and personal, you always run into that friend who has the same exact music taste as you do, and the good energy in the building just brings you to life. Does anyone remember the loud feedback from live instruments? It's an odd thing to miss, but having no live music for seven months can do that to you.
In the first few months of shelter-in-place orders, postponements slowly turned into cancellations, and musicians began putting on virtual concerts from their homes.

A cursory glance at Netflix’s daily top 10 tells us a great many revealing things, chief among them that quality, or lack thereof, has no bearing on viewership, but also, further down the list is an underlined reminder that nostalgia still rules. It’s not just any nostalgia but a specific kind that transports thirtysomething millennials back to their teenage years, as evidenced by the recent success of Clueless or Jurassic Park or Moesha or Friends, easy access to films and shows many of us had to struggle for back in the day.

One year, six months, and 13 days.
That is how long Issa Rae made us wait between seasons three and four of Insecure.
It was such a long time, and fans were getting antsy while Issa pursued other projects.
Luckily for us, it was definitely worth the wait! Issa gave us, arguably, the best season by far. The show is usually a comedy full of awkward moments, but this season we delved much deeper into the characters and their growth. Here are just a few reasons why it's a favorite.
Issa Got her Life Together (Mostly)
Let's be real. In the first couple of seasons, Issa was kind of a mess.
She was in a dead-end job. She cheated on Lawrence. Then ended up sleeping on the couch of the guy with which she cheated. Sis had a 425 credit score. It was not looking good.
In season three, however, we started to see things turn around.

The New York theatre community is normally all abuzz in June. The Tony Awards provide excitement at the start of the month, warm weather brings in major tourist dollars, and New Yorkers collect their rainbow studded Playbills to celebrate Pride. But the coronavirus had different plans for June of 2020: Broadway is shuttered, the Tonys are indefinitely postponed, and new safety measures have cancelled Pride events worldwide. So thank the theatre gods for the tonic that is the American Masters documentary “Terrence McNally: Every Act of Life.”
Terrence McNally sadly passed away in March due to complications from Covid-19, so it is only fitting that the life story of this pioneer playwright should roar loudly during Pride month. The film was completed before his death, with a premiere at the Tribeca Film festival in 2018. The documentary now reaches a wider audience with a celebratory Pride airing on Sunday June 14th,...

Monster Trucks is pure, child-first cinema that’s energetically staged to wow younger audiences (and entertain older chaperones). Didn’t see that coming, did ya? We’re talking about a film that Viacom publicly took a $115 million write-down for and buried away with little-to-no hype. As a critic, these scenarios typically spell a 15-car-pile-up kind of disaster – yet Monster Trucks is no such dumpster fire.
As legend tells, former Paramount film president Adam Goodwin fell in love with an idea co-spawned by his four-year-old son. From there, Ice Age/Robots director Chris Wedge was offered his first feature outside animation, with screenplay duties going to Safety Not Guaranteed/Jurassic World writer Derek Connolly (story by Glenn Berger/Jonathan Aibel/Matthew Robinson). No joke. All these people were tasked with making a child’s cinematic dreams come true, and that’s exactly what the film feels like – a wide-eyed, enthusiastic slice of fun-filled kiddie entertainment.
