This episode had me crying one minute & laughing the next. I experienced the nervous energy (& dry mouth, lol) of the board room pitch & the excited anticipation of the family awaiting the outcome of the trip. This episode took some unexpected turns and had some really heartfelt moments, I loved it!

Nice People Finish First

Johnny, Roland, and Stevie head off to New York to pitch their idea for investment in a group of small motels. They are met with smugness and ugliness. They wear their hearts on their sleeves and do an admirable job but the fix is in...until. This is a great episode with all kinds of anticipation. I think the strength here is that what appeared paradise before the bankruptcy now seems so shallow.

Moira. Does the most embarrassing, ungraceful thing in the name of Grace (cuts someone else's cake, thinking it was hers), then tries to smooth it over till Grace arrives by smearing out Grace's name on the cake. But when Grace reminds Moira she's already there, Moira Calls her a "timorous grinagog" and says she'll miss her most of all.
No idea if they wrote it or improvised it, but it was priceless.

The gang all wave goodbye to Johnny, Roland and Stevie who are going by jet to NYC to propose their idea to investors. When they arrive they sit together on a bench in the building.
A beautiful asian woman with straight shoulder-length hair appears with an ear piece. Roland and Stevie are so out of place and Roland asks about water, Stevie compliments their "offices".
Upstairs Johnny is so comfortable and clearly experienced in business. They propose their idea and give a presentation with slides. Stevie presents very well. It goes smoothly and Johnny ends off with that his own family lived in a motel for the past three years and they hope others can get to enjoy the simple things in life too.

Downstairs the asian woman goes up to them and lets them know the investors won't move forward with the idea but she is starting up a firm and would love to go out for lunch to discuss further.
The three of them come home and they hug the rest of the group.
