Or you will see the monster
dannylee-7808230 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
1. Lundy really pushes Dex 2. Confirmed that Butcher is member of the police 3. Dex relapses and revenge

OKKK this episode was fire. There were so many moments I got anxious because how dramatic it was. Doakes finding Dexters collection and Dexter confronting Lila were all amazing scenes. Dexter has a lot of angles closing in on him. I have NO idea how he will get out of it and how there's still 6 more seasons.

Mind-blowing 'edge-of-your-seat' episode
matt-clark136231 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. This episode is just brilliant, connecting the series, while adding new turns & shocks. You have so many twists, like the bay-harbour butcher case, Lila & dexter's 'monster', Sgt. Doakes & the blood report & the man who killed Dexter's father, all pulled together into a set of events which never keeps you off your game in the last section. It's good to see the old Dexter back, but a little scary while watching it. The only downside is that all these references & names can get mixed up from other episodes, and does slow down the thinking process. But after you get passed that section, then the real fun begins.

Excellent Episode!

This is the eighth episode on the second season of Dexter and it's a very good, tense episode. This episode has many surprising elements and sometimes I was taken off guard on what happened. They still know how to roll out the surprises and this is a good set-up episode for what will happen as we are nearing the finale.

In this episode, "Morning Comes," Dexter is told that he is not allowed to see Rita and the kids again. Dexter finds out that Lila deliberately lied to him about her house being on fire and Lila and Debra are at odds with one another. Dexter has another encounter with one of his mother's killers. Finally, Doakes breaks into Dexter's house as he is searching for evidence.

Overall, this is an incredible episode that promises even better things ahead. This has the element of surprise and they are used effectively. The acting is still fantastic and I'm excited to see what happens next. I rate this episode 9/10.

Discoveries
claudio_carvalho21 August 2010
Dexter feels suffocated with the arguments of Debra and Lila in his apartment. Rita forbids Dexter to visit her children and her again. Dexter visits Lila that has trouble with the insurance company and finds multiple evidences of how the fire started in her loft. Agent Lundy believes that the Bay Harbor Butcher is in law enforcement and brings special agents to investigate the cases of the Miami Metro. Then he interviews Dexter about a case lost due to the lousy blood forensic report. Lila meets Dexter in the bowling and Dexter is assaulted by Santos Jimenez that tries to kill him. Kundy invites Debra to have dinner with him in his apartment. Doakes breaks in Dexter's apartment searching for evidence to incriminate him. Dexter sharpens his sense with his killing instinct and seeks out Santos; when he meets the killer of his mother, he discovers how the criminal has located him.

"Morning Comes" is one of the best episodes of this Second Season. This show is based on discoveries: Lundy, Debra and Angel find that the Bay Harbor Butcher definitely works in the police department; Dexter discover the hidden personality of Lila; and Doakes snoops Dexter's apartment and finds the blood samples hidden in the air conditioning apparatus. I am looking forward to see the sequel of this engaging episode. My vote is nine.

It gets better

Warning: Spoilers
Dexter is built on the progressive ramping of tensions and stakes, as any half decent drama show is. I love how more of Lila's mental inner-workings are portrayed. They were already shown but are given a spotlight the entire episode. And this time Dexter is really on thin ice, and seemingly put in a hole he can't climb out of. The second season is slightly more spotty in my opinion, but this episode was absolutely terrific.

Deb: She's pale, and no-ones pale in Miami. She's obviously a vampire.

Warning: Spoilers
Dex is very assuming, walking into Rita's house after telling her he slept with Lila. His previous actions aren't like his usual actions, he is usually always a nice guy and therefore he thinks Rita will see him the same way.

Dex cracks when Batista tells him the Butcher is one of their own, spilling coffee, lucky Batista and Masuka can't see him in that light though. However considering Doakes's attacking him, then later Jimenez at the bowling alley, and his knack for knowing serial killers. It would at some point enter their mind.

Love Deb's attitude when Lila comes into the station looking for Dex, who lied about working late. Deb: Awww men are such pigs. waving goodbye :]

Dex goes back to finish off Jimenez. Ending him with the chainsaw, like Jimenez had used on his mother. Quite fitting. Jimenez: I'll F*cking Kill You!! (hehe)

Dex: Stay away from Rita. Stay away from me. Lila: Or what? Dex: Or you will see the monster. chilling :]

You'll See The Monster [9/10]

My Reaction / Review for Dexter Season 2 Episode 8 ''Morning Comes'' (S2. E8): Episode 7 was awesome and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Now Lundy knows that the Bay Harbor Butcher works for the police and he is going to investigate all of them, that's not good. The relationshop between Lundy and Deb is so disgusting. Wow the guy who killed Dex's mom just tried to stab him? That's nuts. Wow Doakes got inside Dex's house, this dude just wont give up. Doakes found Dex's blood samples, that's insane. Lila is about to be exposed. It seems like Lila is a worse psycho compared to Dex. Overall a great episode, my rating is 9/10.

I actually thought this show was shot in Miami, so how come the bowling took place at the place on Pico? Sure they have a nice beat pool table, but the place smells like burned coffee and popcorn...and it's on the wrong side of the country.

At this point the side characters are doing things that people just don't do. I'm starting to kind of hate Dexter's sister. The show forgets to answer what Lundy could possibly see in her. Doakes would have been locked into a rubber room for midgets a long time ago. It's funny, because many other shows have the problem of trying to resolve things too slow (see: Sopranos) to take up more time. This show makes things that should develop over an entire season take 10 minutes. At least the Dexter and Lundy are still doing their best.
