The acts are interesting. I always appreciate talented people. But the hosts are terrible. Also, when the act is finished, the hosts don't even comment. They just go on to the next act. These people just put it all out there and they don't even acknowledge it.

A bit campy, for better or worse

The hosts have decent enough chemistry, but most of their material is incredibly corny. The random crowd shots take you out of the moment, but the acts are definitely top notch so far. Good time killer, but I can't imagine that this is going to catch on all that much. Been there, done that.
Its like a modern variety show

After watching the first two episodes this show is entertaining. Its a variety show without the competition or focus on judges since there are none. Also, they dont waste time with the performers background. Really, who cares where they came from and how they got there, we are watching to see them perform so its great they skip all the unnecessary info and just get from one act to the next.
As for the hosts, well thats why its only an 8 rating. They are still finding their way - they come off as new and uncomfortable to have the spotlight on them. And their material is weak - so the show is not spending a lot on quality writers - when they speak they deliver some weak jokes weakly. That's ok, the performers are putting on a great show. The live audience is cheering on the acts just like you at home will.

While the acts are interesting, the hosts are awful. But their dialog is worse. Forced humor, that isn't even marginally funny, and an uncomfortable familarity that just does not work. They both come across as trying to out cute each other. If it weren't for them and the mindless blather, I'd give the show an 8.
