Paul is not the best at interviewing, he talks too much and attempts to steer the guest where he wants them to go instead of simply asking the questions and letting them answer. A little prod here and there is useful with a reluctant interviewee such as Donald Fagen but he shouldn't have talked over him, it seemed almost manic on Shaffers part. When he's wrapping it up he says it's like a music lesson blah blah blah and Donald says "oh yeah, it was like school in 1953, staring out the window waiting for 3 o'clock" I laughed my a$$ off at that and it pretty much sums it up. At least he had opportunity to once again affirm the importance of Walter Becker to the entire Steely Dan songwriting process, both musically & lyrically.
