- Lindsay's big day, the wedding to Lucas, has finally arrived. The old gang reunites, remembering their own loves and/or marriages, even Karen and Andy from New Zealand. Haley still isn't ready to let Nathan back. At the altar Lindsay finally realizes the Comet in Lucas' book refers to Peyton's car and their first love, and runs out. Crazy Carrie kidnaps Jamie, pretending she was rehired as his nanny. Because Haley saw Dan and refused him entry, Nathan sends the police look for his dad. In fact Dan followed Carrie and finds his grandson.—KGF Vissers
- The episode begins with Lucas (Chad Michael Murray), Haley, and Jamie driving down some deserted back roads in a car reminiscent of Dean Winchester's '67 Impala from Supernatural. They stop at a dock, which is where Haley tries to convince Lucas that he wrote his book because he's still in love with Peyton. He's not buying it. The trio is there to meet up with Karen, who has just arrived back in town with Lily and Andy. Remember him? One Tree Hill's parade of returning faces continues.
Dan is putting on a tux while ominous music plays in the background. The way this scene plays out, with Dan dabbing cologne on himself and mischievously muttering about family reunions, I fully expect him to burst into the church with a machine gun and shoot the place up. He's probably going to be more subtle than that though.
In case you didn't think little Jamie was adorable enough, he's now in a tux and gets to be the ring bearer at the wedding. Nathan (James Lafferty) asks Lucas if he has any info on Haley, but he says she's still being stubborn and has no desire to see him.
Lucas flashbacks to a sexy evening with Lindsey, which I'm pretty sure is just an excuse to get Chad Michael Murray to take his shirt off. She goes on and on about how romantic his book is, but he just doesn't see it. I'm not sure why Lucas is the only one who doesn't notice that his book is a total love letter to Peyton. Has he even read the thing?
Karen (Moira Kelly) visits Brooke at the clothing store, and Brooke explains that Peyton is having a tough time dealing with the wedding. After Peyton comes in, Karen gives them some parental advice about love and life and dealing with hard times. Every time the adults are on this show they end up spouting cheesy platitudes, which is just one reason why I find Dan so refreshing.
Skills wants to find a way to sabotage the wedding so Peyton can take Lindsey's place. He wonders if Lucas will say the wrong name at the altar like Ross did on Friends, which would be awesome. One other person who may be plotting to sabotage the wedding is Dan (Paul Johansson), who is sitting outside the church with a devious grin on his face. Haley approaches his car and tells him that there's no way he's going inside. She also says that she hopes he enjoys his miserable life, which I'm sure he will.
Alright, it's wedding time! As Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) is walking down the aisle, Nathan flashbacks to a romantic moment they shared together. The romance of the situation is short lived though, as we soon cut to crazy nanny Carrie sitting in the church orchestra. She says that her son, Jamie, is the ring bearer. Ha! This is totally going to lead to an insane kidnapping plot. The Scotts better keep a close eye on their little one.
If Dan is going to burst in with guns blazing he better do it quickly, because Lindsey is walking down the aisle. Just as vows are about to be exchanged, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) halts the wedding by standing up and rambling about how much she loves Lucas. Thankfully it's only a dream sequence, because that would be a bit rude. In reality, Lucas says "I do," but when it's time for Lindsey to say the magic words, she stops. She tells Lucas that, because of a passage from his book, she's suddenly realized he's in love with Peyton. Unfortunately for Lucas, it's most decidedly not a dream sequence when she runs out of the church in her wedding dress.
Alright, it's time for that kidnapping we've all been waiting for! Skills lets Jamie go to the bathroom by himself, but nanny Carrie intercepts him and talks him into leaving with her. She says that Haley is allowing them to hang out again, and since poor Jamie doesn't know any better he believes it.
As Lucas sulks and vows to get Lindsey back, Haley is running around and frantically looking for Jamie. She thinks that Dan took him, but for once the evil mastermind isn't to blame. Meanwhile, instead of tap dancing in the aisles over the aborted wedding, Peyton is upset over the fact that Lucas said "I do." Brooke (Sophia Bush) talks some sense into her and tells her to stop her moping, and then randomly admits that she wants to have a baby. Where did that come from? Brooke Davis is not at all mature enough to deal with offspring. I don't care how much money she has.
Nathan grabs the cops and tells them that Dan ran off with Jamie. However, little do they know that he's really in nanny Carrie's motel room and about to get his hair dyed black. This will help the two of them evade the police now that Carrie is his "new mommy." Carrie leaves Jamie alone at the motel so she can go out and run an errand, but she's unaware of the fact that Dan is sitting outside watching her.
Lucas makes it home and finds Lindsey there, re-reading the passage from his book that makes his Peyton obsession obvious. It's something romantic about a comet, and a Comet just happens to be the type of car Peyton had when Lucas first spoke to her. Lindsey knows that his heart will never belong to her, so she leaves the ring and takes off.
As much as I want Dan to save the day, it's going to look really bad to the cops if he runs off with Jamie. He breaks into the motel room and starts choking Carrie the instant she returns, making this the most awesome scene in the entire fifth season. Hell, maybe it's the most awesome scene in all 100 episodes, I'm not sure. Dan tells her that she better leave his family alone, because if he murdered his brother in cold blood, he certainly won't hesitate to murder her. I love it! I kind of wish he had killed her and dumped the body, but I'm happy with a good threat as well.
Back at the Scott household, Jamie runs in and says that Grandpa Dan saved him from the evil nanny. Everyone is shocked at this turn of events, and their jaws really hit the floor when Dan walks in playing the hero. Is the elder Scott really redeemed, or is this just another of his evil schemes?
