What a beautiful story. Its heart-touching, emotional, full with love and humanity. Great acting by Dia & Mohit and cuteness & innocence of SEHAR is stealing the show. Best line by Sehar in the show.....MAI PAKISTANI NHI HU, HINDUSTANI HU. Thanks to the director of this series & Zee5 for making such a MASTERPIECE.
Simple, pure and beautifully crafted.

Kaafir makes an honest attempt to inject hope, peace and goodwill within a system marred by hatred and prejudices. But what's more delightful is that it does it organically and with ease.
Story is well written and directed. Cinematography, Background score and colour grading were also good. Mohit raina and Dia mirza have given a phenomenal performance.
As episodes pass, we get attached to the world created by the team. We get close to Kainaaz and Vedant. We become a part of their journey. And that's when you realise how beautifully this has been crafted.
Too beautiful to be explained

The entire series describes the unconditional and unconventional love between two strangers and how far they go to live the promise made by one to the other....These type of stories need to be told to fill the void of pure love in recent times....A must watch..
.brilliant storyline and backdrop❤
Oversimplified

When the streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime are ruling the viewer's world,Zee5 has come up with this little miniseries .The series consisting of eight episodes is penned by Bhavani Iyer(Co writer of Black,Lootera and Raazi) and directed by Sonam Nair. The series has quite a surprising cast of Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina.
The series is based on a Pakistani woman Kainaaz (Dia Mirza) who has been detained by Indian army as a suspected militant in Kashmir .Vedant Rathore ,a journalist ventures to seek justice for her and her daughter who was born in Indian prison.
The series is really given the approach it deserves i.e not being excessively patriotic and no redundant subplots. The series is handled with utmost sincerity and precision.I guess the writing and the course of events are too over simplified some times for all types of audiences to understand and that's where people who have watched various internationally popular web series will be dissatisfied it turns to be one of the intentionally made shortcomings which drops slightly the quality of the Zee5 original .The direction is pretty impressive considering the fact that Sonam Nair is known for directing comedy tv series. The topic is a sensitive one and she has shown maturity to deal with it.Pratik shah's spectacular camera work has given the series another plus point to boast of.The way Kashmir is captured as both beautiful and insecure ,gorgeous but dangerous is worth applauding. The title song composed by Ravi Singhal and sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar,Asees Kaur equally resonates with us for a long time and fits in the series .
Mohit Raina as Vedant Rathore is very impressive and fits in the role like water, his performance has been equally complemented by Diya Mirza who has been at her best portraying her character'svulnerabilities.Dia Mirza captures the innocence .The genuineness of her character is well enough to gain sympathy from the viewers. The rest of the characters are half baked and not given a chance to flourish and doesn't add much to the story although the situation demands it to be.Sometimes the subsequent plot developments are very premature and acts as an hindrance to the story telling.
Overall a good series to watch

A heart warming tale of humanity
srd-3065911 September 2019
Usually, web series is my least priority but then on a strong recommendation, I hit upon this most poignant tale of a luckless lady and it haunts me with it's measured, concise, restrained warm depiction. Sonam Nair's direction is flawless, Bhavani Iyer's screenplay touching without being teary. Dia Mirza shines with her nuenced performance. Her eyes, her soft voice, her twick of the lips as she tries to control her tears make it a memorable comeback to the screen. Mohit Raina is brilliant with his controlled emotions. Little Seher though wins my heart with her cute innocence.
An unforgettable web series thanks to Zee5

Great Premise But Lost Opportunity
djdevansh9531 October 2019
Finished watching KAAFIR . The show has an interesting and beautiful premise , but the main conflict of the show resolves so early and after that it just kinda loses its way and falls totally flat and became a bore fest.
It is a huge lost opportunity and if the screenplay and story writer plays it with subtlety, it could have been one of the best show.
Performance of Dia Mirza is her lifetime best and Mohit Raina looks earnest but falls flat handling various emotions!
Despite all its heavy criticism the show will remain with you for sometime!

A compelling story that touches your heart and leaves you wanting more
chandraabhishek-2389616 May 2020
This is a series which needs to be seen rather than described in words. A perfect composition of flawless writing, brilliant characterisation and heart touching performances that leaves you wanting more even after 6 hours. Story telling at its best!
Good Story and Plot but really poor Execution because of poor direction and screenplay
kerrypunjabi4 January 2020
Where to start? This series is the biggest KLPD in Indian TV series history. First 3-4 episodes are slow but the story seems to go in good direction. But after that, director ne last 3 episodes main tatti kar di. I kid you not, there are really long sequences filmed where characters are eating, taking a walk, entering a house, ordering food and what not. I mean what happened yaar Sonam (Director)? Why is Diya saying "I dont want to be a burden on you" matlab kahan jayegi woh? There was nothing in that angle? Let me come to the worse part, there is no closure to any character but supposedly there will be a new season. Huge tip for the next season, make the episodes too the point and crisp and just below 30 minutes. Dont be too artistic and screw up your own project which could have been great.
AN ABSOLUTE BRILLIANT WRITING MEETS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES IN THIS HEART TOUCHING PRODUCT

KAAFIR REVIEW :-
Webseries nowdays, have been too much unrealistic, vulgar and attention seeker for no reason at all. Few of them had quality but mostly webseries were sold on non-quality Content. Here comes Kaafir which sets an Example of Quality writing and socially important content. If this is not enough then Outstanding performances and Emotional connect are two more strong reasons that makes Kaafir a Must Watch Film.
Kaafir is a story of a Central character Kainaaz who is Pakistani but accidentally crosses the Border and entered in India. The expected circumstances under the cover called National security issues puts her in more problems and she goes on to have worst incidents of her life in Jail. The 2nd most important character is Vedant, an Indian Lawyer and Journalist who fights for Kainaaz's rescuel but has some unforgivable and unforgettable past that makes these 2 characters full fledged. The 3rd one is Cute yet powerful and mandatory character called Sehar, obviously Daughter of Kainaaz. Bhavani Iyer as writer has written every character very smartly, realistically and relatable mind. Apart from these 3 the other characters are too equality important in this narrative no matter how long they stay on screen they got that much importance on screen. Bhavani not only wrote the characters Beautifully but also crafted them with genius mind as you can see not a single character looks unrelated or immature, every character had that backstory and much needed conflicts. If this is an Exam paper then undoubtedly Bhavani Iyer has topped the charts with Full marks.
It is very difficult to keep people engaged for 7 hours throughout the narrative with the Performances and that Very Difficult fort has been breached by Actors. Dia Mirza is Explored like never before in Kainaaz role, she delivered The Best Act of her career. No more words can describe it, just Hats off to her. The same story is followed by Mohit Raina who again delivered most Matured Performance of his life. The cute little girl Dishita Jain portrayed Sehar with Zero acting knowledge and Full Natural skils. Rest of the Cast members have supported them with full passion and each of them deserves special mention.
Director Sonam Nair will be remembered for directing this Universally important subject with 100% conviction. She has made a gem and shown us that she is a Genius storyteller. Kaafir could have been a Fisco or an average affair without Sonam Nair. There are so many Cinematic nuances to learn, there's so much to take home and keep it with you forever.
What works in Kaafir? Almost everything. The script, the acting, the cinematography, the execution, the direction, the emotional connect, the love story, the quality phenomena and what not. What doesn't work? There are quite few scenes which pokes like a hard rocks in this Smooth flowing river but one can forgive them saying it humanary natural mistake. Overall Kaafir is Brilliant Writing meeting the Outstanding performances and Class direction to deliver a Must See Product. Make a list of films made on India-Pakistan border affairs and i bet Kaafir will stand tallest in the list. Yes, you read it again, Kaafir is that much High level experience. If we believe India doesn't produce good writers then give a watch to Kaafir and you will apologize for the above statement. This India-Pakistan human emotions story with full of conflicts is Strongly Recommended for Quality lovers. A CLASSIC !
