• Green Lantern : [seeing Poison Ivy arrive]  Poison Ivy? What are you doing here?

  Poison Ivy : Reminding these people of their place in the world!

• [last lines] 

  Pam Isley : [looking at the ancient tree's stump]  300 hundred years he reigned and they just didn't care. People are a lost cause.

  [Jessica stands in silent sadness, then notices something on the ground. As Pam begins to walk off, Jessica stops her. She points to what she saw, a tiny acorn in the roots of the stump. It then cuts to Jessica and Pam planting the acorn in the ground] 

  Jessica Cruz : There's no such thing as a lost cause.

  [they begin to walk off] 

  Jessica Cruz : Pammy, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

  Pam Isley : [pushes her away]  Don't push it.

  [as Jessica runs to catch up, a tiny sapling sprouts from the ground] 

• Pam Isley : [telling the ancient tree's history]  He came here no more than a humble seed, carried from across the land by a sparrow. The soil welcomed him. He was only a sapling in those days. He never dreamed he'd grow as big as the others, but he did. He cared for his neighbors, providing them homes and nourishment. Centuries passed. He grew as wise as he was magnificent. Until one day, he became the King of the forest.

  Jessica Cruz : Wow. Pam, that was beautiful.

  Pam Isley : And then the monsters came. They drove off the animals. They murdered all the king's subjects. They ripped up the earth, buried it under concrete. They destroyed every last remnant of his kingdom, leaving him eternally alone. All he wanted was to protect his forest. Now he's the one who needs protection.

• Poison Ivy : [facing off against Green Lantern]  I don't know where you came from, but stay out of this!

  [she sends vines hurtling at Green Lantern, who creates giant hand constructs to grab them, but some of the vines get past her and grab the fleeing workers. Green Lantern creates a chainsaw construct and cuts through the vines, freeing the workers. Poison Ivy growls and commands two vines to grab jackhammers. Before she can use them to harm two more workers, Green Lantern creates a wall construct to stop the jackhammers] 

  Green Lantern : I won't let you hurt them, Ivy!

  Poison Ivy : We'll see about that!

  [commands her vines to encircle and trap the workers. Green Lantern creates a shears construct and starts cutting the vines, but can't cut through all of them] 

  Poison Ivy : Oh, having trouble keeping up?

  [sprouts a vine that grabs a bulldozer and holds it above the captive workers] 

  Poison Ivy : Let's just finish this, shall we?

  [commands the vine to throw the bulldozer at the workers. Green Lantern creates a shovel construct and swats the bulldozer back. It flies through the air and hits the ancient tree] 

  Poison Ivy : NO!

  [her vines drop the workers] 

  Green Lantern : [to the workers]  Quick, run!

  [the workers run off. The ancient tree cracks down the middle, then splits in half. Both halves then fall to the ground, its leaves blowing away in the wind. Poison Ivy slumps to the ground in sorrow. Green Lantern walks up behind her] 

  Green Lantern : You could have killed those people!

  Poison Ivy : [in tears]  You killed this tree!

  Green Lantern : [gasps and steps back in horror]  I-I didn't mean to.

  Poison Ivy : [sinks into the ground]  You're unworthy of the color of life, Green Lantern! And one of these days, you will pay.

  [Green Lantern stands in silent sorrow while the wind blows]
