The great Gordon Buchanan narrated this little two parter documentary about animal behaviour in 2019, particularly on "play" behaviour and both how this is defined and how it works. What results are some beguiling "animals mucking about" footage but a lot of it feels far meatier than this might suggest. The majority of it is behaviour being observed by academics and scientists, and how these observations feed into theories on animal behaviour and evolutionary functions of play. Sounds quite dry, no? Thankfully a komodo dragon stuffs its big scaly head into a bucket at one point and that alone makes this nature doc worth a watch.
