• Kim Bauer : [Over the phone]  did I wake you?

  Stephen : Who could sleep after today? How'd it go with your father?

  Stephen : [after she doesn't respond]  sweetheart? What is it? What happened?

  Kim Bauer : [Crying]  his dying

  Kim Bauer : He was exposed to "something." It had something to do with the attacks earlier today

  Stephen : Honey, I'm so sorry... isn't there that they can do?

  Kim Bauer : No, I'm coming back home

  Stephen : Don't you want to stay? Don't you want to be with him as long as you can?

  Kim Bauer : My presence... with what his going through right now will only make things worse

  Stephen : Did you at least tell him about his granddaughter?

  Kim Bauer : I couldn't... I couldn't even bring myself to tell him I wasn't the only person he was leaving behind: telling him about Teri would've only made it worse. I'm going to try to get on the 6:10, if I do, I'll be back in LA by 9
