A kind of paint on automobiles that changes hues depending on the angle and light of the viewer? Cool! I don't know if that's possible, but in today's high-tech world it probably is, and that's part of the story angle in this CSI: Miami episode.

A getaway truck looks red to most, but blue to another eyewitness, who just happens to be "Kyle," "Horatio's Caine's" son. That boy was part of a group sentenced and on their way to jail when others ram the bus and the convicts escape. Kyle does the right thing and doesn't run, instead seeking Horatio's help. Mr. Caine, who hasn't told the kid yet that he's his son, is more than willing to help the boy, giving him good advice on how to act in jail.

Meanwhile, a very interesting twist happens when "Ryan Wolfe" - who we can never get rid of in this program! - agrees to testify for the defense against "Natalia Boa Vista" and the CSI office. Wow, not a good way to get your job back at CSI, but the professional-witness pay is good, as he needs the money. Natalia, who has always messed up since joining CSI as a field agent, actually does the noble thing and doesn't retaliate by providing dirt to the prosecutor on Mr. Wolfe. Good for her! She takes the high road, something she hasn't always done (as other CSI haven't always done, either, to be fair).

Anyway, between the kid, Natalie, Wolfe and the questions about whether the viscous killers will be apprehended all make for a very good episode.

No Gun Registration in Florida
asbrand113 October 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Calley matches the .45 bullet pulled from the deaf girl victim to man named "Barry" in a Gun Registration Database.

As usual for writers from the other side of the country, they continually make up stuff that simply does not exist in the state of Florida.

Florida does not have, nor has ever had, a Gun Registration Database. They do not register guns, nor do they have and keep a database of fired test rounds from guns not yet used in a crime.

This is a common error the writers for this show continually make.

I often wonder if this is an innocent mistake on the part of ignorant writers, or a subtle plot to brainwash the masses into thinking all guns are or should be registered.

Either way - I wish they'd just do a little studying and get it right.

Boavista screwed up
enathanb110 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Boavista collected the keychain from the motorcycle the escaped convict used to get away.

She is shown just throwing it on top of her clipboard in her Hummer.

She should have placed it in an envelope to prevent contamination and to maintain chain of custody.

She finds the convicts DNA on the keychain.

But the evidence gets thrown out because she failed to follow the proper procedure.

Then she gets mad at former CSI Wolf for calling her on it.

Boavista is also shown going to a gun trainer to help her get qualified to carry a gun as a CSI.

But even though she is a former FBI agent, who should already be qualified to carry a gun, she is shown missing the target on all of her shots.
