First of all I love Christmas movies, especially romance and rom com. Secondly, I never take the made for t.v ones too serious. Their strictly entertainment, cheesiness and all.
Now, got that out of the way. This movie was going good until the end or the lack there of. I thought I missed something so I rewinded my dvr and I didn't . It's like they ran out of budget and yelled cut, leaving us to imagine our own ending. Idk, maybe that's how they wanted it but it was very unclimatic. Very frustrating. So unfinished and for that I deducted stars.

IONtv claimed technical issues

The day after this movie aired without an ending, IONtv made a statement that there were technical issues that cut the final few minutes. They say the full movie with the complete ending will be shown again on December 14 at 9/8c. I don't think it's worth watching the whole thing again.

This movie seemed to be about 3/4 of the way over, and then another totally different movie started. I enjoy the Christmas movies, but I am confused about this one. There were two couples featured, but at the time this part of the movie stopped this evening, whether either ended up with their assumed partner was not known. The actors were all very good. I do hope we will get to see the end of the story.

I must have been the only one who caught the disgusting display of toxic masculinity from the "good guy" male lead. Cracking the sads like a jilted 13 year old when Jen rejects his advance by and completely disrespecting her wish for time after breaking up with her boyfriend. Totally lost it for me there

My wife and I watched this movie last night. We tend to watch a lot of these simple plot movies where the endings are almost very similar. Like everyone else, our unbelief when the credits started rolling without a conclusion floored us. We rolled the 'tape' back and we were not deceived the first time. There was no ending. A cliffhanger at its worse.
We talked about it a lot afterwards because it really was better than some of the other recent Christmas movies. I believe a future showing, which there are some scheduled still in December may restore the cut off ending. I think ending was chopped off for time limitations and ease of editing. Future showings I would expect and hope would cut out the five minutes needed to wrap this up in some other location in the film.
How it ends? Here is my thought which five minutes could wrap it up easily. We see him leaving his place putting his precious Gatsby book in his backpack, That is where the movie ends abruptly. I believe he sells the book {remember he stresses earlier its value} and purchases those earrings for her {like her father sold his car for his wife} and shows up at the party with them, expressing his faith in her and of course his love.
If you look at the folio of the cover of the movie, she is in her red dress and he is in a suit, both arm and arm. If you look closely at the picture, her earrings are different. Not the ones she picked and was wearing with the black dress a few moments earlier. Those had more dangle and were larger. The ones in the folio sure might look like the ones from the store. My theory anyway. Hope it helps.

I love all the cheesy, similar, so bad they're good TV Christmas movies but the lead Jon in this treats the lead so poorly in the toxic "I'm the good guy" victim way and pushes her when she sets boundaries. Disgusting. Love christmas movies with Vivica as a supporting character but there are plenty more so skip this.

I love a good Christmas movie, I'll even take a bad Christmas movie, but this has to be one of the worst I've ever watched. All the cliches, buckets of awkwardness and acting that seems consistently 3 steps off the pace. The writing feels like fanfic, overworked, overwrought and over thought with conversations lasting 3 times too long.
If you're a Christmas tragic like me insisting on watching your way through every streaming Christmas movie this season, knock this one over early.

Who ends a movie like that??? At first I thought the DVR had messed up until I backed up and saw the small end credits on the screen. Awful horrible "ending" ...if that is what you call it. I can' believe Vivica agreed to that crappy ending.

There appeared to be a missing part to this movie. The Ending! It jumped straight
to credits on the lower right hand side of the screen while the movie was still playing. I'm thinking, "wow ION must be on a time constraint to start the next show already, but I expected an ending before the next programming began!" Instead it looked like it got cut off and went straight to Criminal Minds. C.M. even began 3 minutes before the 2nd hour of the movie was over! Badly done ION. Had the movie had a proper ending, I would have rated this movie at a much higher score. It had a very promising start & middle. Can't have a completed story without a conclusion, is what I say.

Great television movie however the ending of it was questionable. I guess the viewers will have to decide the ending of this. It's very clear that Kate and Owen will definitely be together however the relationship between Jen and Jon is questionable.

Am not somebody who hates Christmas or has a bias against made for television Christmas films. The complete opposite on both counts and have made that clear more than once and will continue to do so if necessary (though am refraining as much as possible from reiterating too much). Have liked Vivica A Fox in other things, though more in supporting roles than lead, so that was another reason for watching 'Christmas Matchmakers'. This was watched with a real attempt to like it.
This reviewer has seen far worse films, Christmas and overall, and the film is more tasteful than the title sounds, but 'Christmas Matchmakers' is still not particularly good. Actually thought that in general it was rather weak, with a few good things but they are outweighed by the numerous very badly done things. A waste of a quite cute premise, and while Fox is the main reason for the film not being any worse she has been represented so much better in other work.
Starting with the good things, Fox gives a very amiable and spirited performance that is better than the film deserves.
Did like the scenery too and there are pleasant moments in the soundtrack.
However, the rest of the acting is subpar at best with a lot of over-compensating. Andrew Rodgers is both stiff and arrogance filled as the impossible to like male lead character because of how toxic he is. The chemistry between the actors is unnatural and never fully connected, the romantic chemistry non existent pretty much. Didn't care for any of the characters, the overwritten character flaws make them impossible to endear to and they are never developed really, too much of one level. This includes Fox's later on, despite her valiant efforts.
Furthermore, the script is very cheesy and awkward, while the story when there is any is excessively predictable (even when expecting it to be), full of corn and completely unrealistic. One of the worst offenders being one of the most contrived endings for any Christmas film in recent memory, plus it is incredibly abrupt and suggestive of incompletion. Too much of the photography has a disorganised, frenzied look reminiscent of hasty straight to DVD quality.
Concluding, weak. 3/10.

The previous reviewer mentioned the lack of an ending for this film. Clearly, there are scenes missing,.. The scenes that reconnect the two main characters, whether they walk off into the sunset together or each go their own way. The last scene we see of Jen is in a darling red spaghetti strap dress, hoping to see John and impress him. The very last scene we see in the film is John at the typewriter, seemingly frustrated about his writing and with no indication of how he feels about Jen. But that scene never ends. And neither does the film. It's as if there was an intermission, with no returning conclusion. As the previous reviewer wrote, I was invested in the two main characters, and couldn't wait for them to reconnect. But that simply never happened. Did the director have no control over his editor's work? Or was it simply a finance issue?
A Literal Copy Of Netflix's Set It Up

The only difference between this film and Set It Up is that this film has a "Holiday" setting. Lines are the same, the plot is identical, and the characters only have name changes. I realize that films can be similar, but blatantly ripping off a film is a whole different story. Not to mention the actors in this film do not know what they're doing. AND THERES NO ENDING?!?! I swear, do NOT waste your time on this trash film, go watch Set It Up or just another GOOD holiday film.

This movie is reminiscent of Netflix's movie 'Set It Up' with the same plotline except with a little change in the ending compared with the original. The h's mom lisp and her constant nagging jars the viewers but I could see why the h became desperate enough to turn matchmaker.
