Season two was filmed during the pandemic. Every cast and crew member had to undergo testing and agree to quarantine before filming began. During the season, all cast and crew participants were isolated from contact with the public. At least one cast member was removed from the show for breaking the "quarantine bubble".
Planting a Christmas tree and an American Flag using a truck crane, is symbolic of completion of the project, known as the "Topping Out" ceremony. The practice of "topping out" a new building can be traced to the ancient Scandinavian religious rite of placing a tree atop a new building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced in its construction.
Tools used in a forge:
- Forepunch - are used on horseshoes after they are heated. A hole is punched through 90 percent of the steel with a forepunch (or drift punch). Then the punched hole is lined up over the pritchel hole and the pritchel is driven into the hole, knocking out the remaining metal at the bottom of the punched hole
- Pritchel - Used for punching or enlarging nail holes in a horseshoe
Orange rebar safety caps or steel reinforced safety cap covers and marks the ends of exposed rebar to provide protection against protruding rebar and reduce risk of impalement. The caps are a highly visible orange color for increased awareness.
Concrete is composed of aggregate, sand, water and cement, and made into the desired shape using a form.
