Cathy has fallen for a new boy, Christopher Hubbard (Phil Vandervort), but is too shy to get to know him, having never felt this way before. Richard introduces him to Patty and Cathy. Chris and Cathy have an awkward meeting. Martin advises her to be more direct. Natalie says to be distantly mysterious. Ross says to bat her eyes. Patty, however, says the best way is to be mean toward him. Chris confides in Richard that he is crazy about Cathy, but doesn't know how to handle her. Richard says the only way is to be mean toward her, with comical complications.
