A fun concept executed well enough

Thoroughly enjoyed the format. It was fun seeing a lot of the food network faves compete in a challenging event.

The randomizer is the best thing!
johan-hillnas26 April 2022
Even with an annoying and screaming host, the randomizer and the chefs kicks ass, and that includes the rotatinmg judges and sidekicks.

What these chefs comes up with in such short time is amazing!

Don't let the punkrock wannabe presenter put you off, because it's a really good cooking show!

Drama free viewing is refreshing!

Warning: Spoilers
I love this show. There are so many big name chefs in the competition and despite the rankings at the start, it truly is anyone's game to win. I absolutely adore Britt in season 4. She starts in the 8th seed and powers right through these veterans. She is so emotional and taking in every moment of the opportunity. I didn't know who she was but seeing the wholesome reactions to those she cooks against and judging, it just made her so much more special.

She was happy to be there and was taking in every moment as a blessing.

The seasoned (pun intended) chefs are humble and really embrace the battles with all they're competing against. There are no big egos and all show so much respect for each other.

Guy Fieri usually annoys me but I enjoyed him on every season. He wasn't over the top, never tried to steal the spotlight and made it about the cooking, not his own personal spotlight.

I love Great British Baking Show (GBBS) because it is not cut throat, the contestants are all kind to each other (from what the viewer sees) and they have fun.

The randomizer is FANTASTIC!! True gem of the show.

No Drama?? Can that be right? An American competition show with no screaming, no yelling, no name calling?? It's a miracle!!!

With a lot of cooking competitions there is screaming, rude comments and jabs made, contestants trying to build a following by whatever means necessary so they're being over the top with being extra. So much so that they think being rude or nasty is common and being a villain will get them followers. Due to most reality shows being like this, they get away from fun, great cooking, amazing techniques, showing viewers the talents but rather focus on drama.

That being said, watching this show it brings me to the same feeling of GBBS where it's not drama it's just wholesome viewing that concentrates on cooking with friendly competition. I love It!

MY Superbowl
williamrbabcock7 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I LOVE this show. It may be nerdy, but this is what I look forward to every year now, not the Superbowl. This is the culinary equivalent of said spectacle and I couldn't be happier.

I dont care how you feel about Guy (I personally really like him), there is no arguing that he is using his fame to take his friends to the top, and thar is just such a cool thing to do. Take Darnell Ferguson; he started as a contestant on GGG and now several years later, he has his own shows on Discovery Plus.

It's just so much fun to see some of the best chefs in the country strut there stuff and have a friendly competition to see who's the best. What's not to love about that?

And to the moron who voted this a 1 because of commercials? You are the reason why this country is flailing. I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not everyone is smart enough or informed enough to know what they are talking about. Sadly, the internet has given them a voice. Sigh.

Anyhow, this show is so much fun and if you want to just check out for awhile and enjoy some yummy mindless fun, this is the show to do it.

PS... I LOVE Antonia Lafaso.

Best cooking competition show
mraymos10 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Easily the best cooking competition show currently on TV. This is a show the whole family can watch and it really makes you want to try new things in the kitchen. While the randomizer makes it harder and more interesting it still contra down to who cooks the best dish.

In season 4 we got more than just the usual food network stars competing for the $100,000 prize.

I would love to see them expand to 64 chefs giving more opportunity to standouts like this year's Britt Rescigno who came out of nowhere to make the final 4.

Guy Fieri just has a presence that draws you in and makes you realize these are all real people competing, they aren't million dollar celebrity chefs who don't need the money. This prize could open a new restaurant and employ a lot of people.

As long as there are new seasons my family will be watching.

Love, Love This Show!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Jealousy doesn't get you anywhere! LOL...Some of Guy's haters here are just laughable! I absolutely love this show and I think Guy is a genius! I hope they will eventually give the winner a million dollars and a second place some sizeable money too, as the show gets more and more popular. I think Hunter is very likeable (take that you haters!) and I hope this young man will make a name for himself. I wish that Brooke was in TOC 4. But Mei Lin was absolutely awesome and deserved the win. Antonia, Amanda and Jet...Well, your time will come! Haha...I need 27 more required characters...So, there it is! Can't wait for TOC 5!

Best Cooking Competition Ever
mckibbonfamily14 April 2021
No Spoilers here - this is simply the best, most unbiased, Cooking Competition ever! The Randomizer and the Fact that the Judges have no clue who they are judging is phenomenal! Thank you for bringing excitement into my Covid Bubble!

The Women Rule Again!
FAN-TASTICO8 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I am completely "hooked" on this wonderful competition show!!! It's the only cooking competition I MUST watch each season. I also loved the Children's Baking Championship until they let co-host Valerie Bertinelli go. I don't think another woman can take her place.

I LOVE Guy Fieri! He has good energy! His booming voice doesn't bother me. He's a fabulous emcee who is comfortable with people. I wouldn't want to see anyone else host this program. Those quieter-type people will make it boring. I definitely cannot imagine someone like Bobby Flay doing it. His voice and energy are just wrong for this type of program.

I also am not bothered to see Guy Fieri's son with him on the program. I think it's a beautiful thing to see their obviously great relationship. Hunter seems to be a very fine young man.

This season, I really wanted chef Jet Tila to win. He's been the most successful male chef. I love him. But then again, I believe all the chefs on this program are superb. Their talent is simply amazing!

I will definitely "be there" next season.

"TOC" is no Top Chef
tcondon6415 February 2024
First of all, I'm not a Guy Fieri fan. If this were 150 years ago, Fieri would be the traveling snake oil Guy who carries with him his progeny as the Guy Jr. Who is miraculously "cured" by his daddy's concoctions.

I am, however, a cooking competition fan. Top Chef is the GOAT. This competition pales in comparison mainly due to the "ultra-hip" host and his nepo-baby in training. I mute the sound whenever Fieri is shouting his cutesy-pie reductions of phrases into "clever" aphorisms and then repeated again and again.

The actual bit of dramatic tension comes from the "Randomizer" creating a mashup of styles, ingredients, cook time, etc. Other than that, this series is overblown plug-and-play with otherwise earnest chefs and sous chefs trying to obtain a cash reward and garish professional wrassler's champion belt that is nearly impossible to carry gracefully and is obviously embarrassing to hold.

Stupid show with a big mouth host
smiller-9330429 March 2023
Guy Fieri is way Overexposed and has literally taken over the Food Network! I don't get it. And he's trying to foist his son Hunter on to his audience every chance he gets. I've watched that kid since he's been little grow up. It's my hope someday he finds his own path instead of being in the shadow of his big mouth father.

I think the show is way too complicated for viewers and it seems to attract the people that are good enough to be on top Food Network programs. The banter on the show is tired and old and full of the same old platitudes and slogans Guy's been using for 15 years. They're getting old he needs new material.
