The cold open and the monologue were not very good. The first sketch was horrible with only one good impersonation that being Will Ferrel. Kate McKinnon shows us once again that she has played out all of her impressions. It's time for her and Beck Bennet to move on to other things hopefully not comedy and leave snl. They have both overstayed their welcome and both are not funny anymore although McKinnon never was. This episode really rides on Ferrel and the guest stars. The cast still does nothing for this show except for a few. That being said this is the best episode of the season but that's not a hard title to get in the current state of snl.

And that's not a compliment. Will Ferrell proved once again that he just isn't funny. Nothing he did on this episode was humorous. Ryan Reynolds was the clear star of the monologue. The long list of guest stars in this episode shows how lacking most of the cast members are when it comes to impressions. And King Princess about put me to sleep -- super boring.

I like Will Ferrell, but not everything he does is funny to me. This was a prime example of him falling far short of funny. Yet, he was the funniest thing on the show, sad to say. This cast makes all the other casts look like comic geniuses.
I think I laughed twice during one of the skits, the whole rest of the show left me flat, even with the cavalcade of guest stars. The material is just that bad, only a few efforts to make fun of how bad the material was rose to the level of mildly amusing. They had a hard time getting the audience to laugh, mostly it was a nervous twitter at how awful things were going. And this is supposed to have been the best episode this season.
It had been a while since I'd tuned it, and I won't make that mistake (tuning in) again. Ever.
