Season 1: slow start, great finish

The Untamed was my glorious introduction to Chinese costume drama and wuxian, but the positively luminous performances of leads Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan more than whetted my appetite forthe gene and led me to look for more. Oh! My Emperor has not nearly the production values or complexities of Untamed but it does have Xiao Zhan and a cast of talented actors as well as a fun premise which is sort of a cross (to put it in perspective for Westerners)of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and the beloved film Sabrina. The plot: a young doctor in modern day has an accident and is somehow transported to an feudal fantasyland whose noble families are each connected to different signs of the Zodiac and have magical powers. She quite literally falls in with these people, including the Emperor, his prince brothers and his Royal Uncle (Xiao Zhan) who then all fall under the spell of her quirky but delightful personality. I admit to having only seen Season 1 thus far but it is (for the most part) engaging and entertaining. For new Xiao Zhan fans who also having been looking for his body of work, the actor has a good, solid role as the Royal Uncle (although not the lead) and when he is on screen, it's hard to look at anyone else. But tear your eyes away so you can enjoy the delightful work of Rosy Zhao s theyoung doctor whose comedic timing had me laughing out loud. Jiacheng Gu has the lead role of the emperor and he plays the almost homely, serious young ruler very, very well. Also worth looking out for are Jiacheng Wu who plays the emperor's brother with great enthusiasm and Emn Chen as Royal Uncle's best friend. This is a English sub-titled series. Those can sometimes be hit or miss on quality, but these subs are quite good. Definitely a must-see!

Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyed the series. It had a good cast, nice action but was this done on a budget? The filming wasn't first class and some of the sound was almost inaudible, so that rather let the production down. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Lusi Zhao, she was cute and really funny. Have seen Zhan Xiao before this tv series in The Untamed which is brilliant and so is he, you can see the potential from his casting in Oh! My Emperor of what's to come, disappointed though he didn't win in the romance, didn't like the character of the Emperor, couldn't see the appeal myself. Had to skip a few episodes because of the poor quality filming and sound and thought it dragged on too long. I do love watching the Chinese costume dramas though but they are overlong for me except Ashes of Love and The Untamed really enthralled me to watch every episode. Would love to see Zhan Xiao in a more modern setting have only seen him in costume dramas so far

Xiao Zhan is great in this show! If you like costumed dramas you will really enjoy this one! I like the combination of action, adventure, court intrigue and humor interwoven in this fun upbeat show. I love period pieces and costume dramas and this one you'll find yourself getting addicted to as you watch it!

In the beginning i thought it would be a weird drama as its touched into the realm of fantasy but its actually very cute and funny at the same time! definitely love all the characters and even the side characters! the soundtrack is soothing and joyous too, which is one of the best takeaway i got to bop along to during commute time. I hope more people will watch this!

I got interested in this drama because of Xiao Zhan, then I discovered the story lines were funny. Each of the actor did a wonderful job in bringing the character to life.

So hilarious, sweet & romantic!

Totally loved it! Never really seen a cdrama that is romance comedy like this before with Zhao Lusi! It's not only romantic fantasy action drama, it's totally funny in a good way! It's really put you in a good mood watching this drama!

Both main casts Zhao Lusi/Fei fei & Jason Gu/Emperor has an awesome chemistry!

Though rivalry Fei fei & Yanran, both beautiful but they are bestfriend. Its nice to see for once in a drama!

Just the ending is rather rush & open to interpretation.

But all in love, a good drama to watch. Fast & not draggy.

Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't sure I was going to like this series but I couldn't have been more wrong. An intern treats a pop celebrity who gives her VIP passes to his show but on her way to it she has an accident and travels back in time. This is where the start of a love hate relationship between the intern and the emperor (pop celeb). It gets more complicated. Enter boy and girl number two. Girl number 2 who is engaged to boy number 1 (Emperor/pop celeb) but loves boy number 2 and girl number 1 ends up engaged to boy number 2 but is in love with boy number 1. The boys try their hardest to win the affections of the intern ( girl number 1) while the girls would just like to swop fiance's! This is just one of the plots in this series. Despite the plots and sub plots it is enjoyable. Great acting by all. How they managed to keep a straight face at times I just don't know.

Mediocre. Have also seen Oh! My Emperor 2, and it was worse than 1.
