The closest thing the the concert itself
marcel-1026 November 2007
The sound is perfect just as it was at the concert venue in Holland were I went to. So it is great to relive the concert again. I appreciate the complete playing of the "On an Island" CD more now I know the songs better because just before the concert there was not much time to get Acquainted to the songs. The visuals are also great thanks to the directing work of David Mallet, who also did PULSE. Especially the sound and vision on Echoes is astonishing. Stroboscope-alert in your living room. Probably the best Live performance of that song. The guest-appearances by David Crosby, Graham Nash and David Bowie add to the joy of watching this concert.

Gilmore aged to perfection
bobodude20 April 2008
Gilmore has not lost his skills in this video. Wright has lost a little of his voice to age but still holds a decent tune. No clunkers here. The blue ray copy is stunning. The Dolby TrueHD soundtrack is awesome. The only critique I can make is that during many scenes, the back lighting on the stage was so intense, it just saturated the video signal to the point where the band was blotted out. This happened too many times during Gilmore's solos for my taste. But to the producers credit, he didn't jump around visually at breakneck speed as done in the Pulse and Delicate sound of Thunder discs. Overall a great disc. True Gilmore fans will not be disappointed.
