Shows it's age

This one is definitely dated, but still worth watching. Overall it's not the best series but not the worst either. The acting and chemistry of Demir and Asi is what kept me watching until the end. I recommend giving it a view.

The best love story in TV
annoulafe23 January 2013
I have seen so many series in my life but this one is my favorite. I don t know where to start. The script was very good. It was about 2 people who be in love for the first time in their life and the last. They love each other to d e a t h. They have to overcome to every obstacle appeared to them, even the death, and finally they win. The music of the series was super, also. The director made his best to show us the natural beauty of the town that the couple used to live. All the actors and actresses were great, but the most important of the huge success of the series it was the leading actors.Tuba Buyukustuun and Murat Yildirim. The chemistry between them was something else. I have never seen in my real life or in a movie or a TV series, a couple such matching and adorable than this one.The best love story in TV.You must watch it.

great chemistry
sezginaytac201029 March 2014
I think to sum up this series, the key words would be the undeniable connection between Murat Yildirim(Demir) and tuba Buyukustun(Asi, to start off with the love hate relationship when they first interact and what unfolds later on in the series with Demir's past constantly getting in the way, for him to open up about his feelings towards Asi, the emotional scenes between the two characters are unbelievably natural and feel incredibly real and authentic, I've never seen acting in terms of showing emotion and connecting portrayed with such perfection, the series been filmed in my home town I have to admit I was pleased with the great scenery and locations chosen for the series overall a must watch, especially to see Murat Yildirim and Tuba Buyukustun at their best, the supporting cast of Cetin Tekindor(Ihsan) Cemal Hunal(Kerim) and the legendary Tuncel Kurtiz(Cemal Aga) are equally important and impressive.

A love story worth watching
mwb104522 October 2009
I hardly watch any series on television, but I saw the commercial for Asi and considering I am very much taken by the presence of such actresses as Tuba Buyukustun, since I've watched some episodes of Ihlamurlar Altinda, I thought I'd give it a try. I instantly fell in love with the story and the chemistry that Tuba and Murat display on screen. It is the story of a man going back to his past, to revenge his mother's death, which of course the heroin is very much part of. Both hard-headed individuals with pride and huge egos, you will cry and live the details of their love story, you will also laugh and enjoy when these two go at it. It is a pride and prejudice story, but with many more twists and a slightly different ending. I recommend it for everyone, not only turks, as I am not.

Well written, well acted drama with strong production values.
Sermi8525 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is an extremely good drama all around, with a strong cast, good writing, lovely cinematography, and a nice musical score. I saw this series dubbed in Arabic and the voice actors also did a good job with the dubbing. The romantic entanglements are indeed vaguely reminiscent of something Jane Austen might have written, if she'd been writing in modern-day Turkey. Although the series is at times sad, the pastoral setting, subtle touches of humour and overall plot of the series make the series optimistic and hopeful. Asi, a veterinarian who takes charge of her family's farming business, makes for a strong, interesting lead female character.

Tuba and Murat are sublime in these roles
timesthechanrm5 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Drama centered around two families who are at odds because of past wrongdoings. A lovestory from long ago goes awry which leads to a couple separating and a mother's suicide. In the present day, two couples from the two families spearhead the main story lines. Sisters Defne and Asi and childhood friends (more like brothers) Kerim and Demir are at the heart of the drama. Demir and Asi are The Power Couple in the drama. Asi is a hard working and strong willed veterinarian with a love for her family (particularly her father) and the family farmlands. Demir is an engineer who builds a family empire, is protective of his family and arrives in his hometown seeking revenge. Asi and Demir fall deeply in love and through many feats show love endures all things. "Asi" is by far one of the best ensemble casts in a Turkish series and one of the strongest/beloved couple pairings in a series. Beautifully written, well-balanced supporting characters with strong stories of their own, and a very sweet love story. In sum, Tuba and Murat are sublime in these roles and this is a series worth watch many times over.

ASI
janet-2158318 October 2021
I just wish this series will go on Netflix...The acting is superb. One forgets that is only a fantasy. Their acting beats Hollywood. L have been following their movies after ASI but nothing better than Tuba and Murat's chemistry. Looking forward to their partnership again in the future.

capriotozzo5 April 2022
I absolutely feel to me Murat snd Tuba where very much in love. I loved their chemistry together. They had very serious issues with a history of each other's family issues. The cast is amazing and to me this is my favorite series.

Captivating Turkish Serie
vwinterweiler1 March 2024
Time goes by and ASI is undoubtedly one of the best Turkish productions. The truth is that the traditional atmosphere, the story, protagonists and actors are all so captivating for any kind of viewer. There is none of the pure and tremendous evil showed in Turkish series by which script writers show vengeance and violence, especially against women. I sincerely recommend this serie its interesting to know about turkish customs and way of living mainly in the countryside. It is also a delicate and tender story with the drama of life without over-acting or hysterical scenes that are normally showed in turkish novels. Most actors are over-acted by crying and shouting too much.

Unforgettable drama with deeply moving protagonists
ardelacampagne30 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Asi is the story of a successful businessman, Demir (beautifully played with disarming sincerity by Murat Yildirim) who returns to his native city of Antakya (ancient Antioch), driven by a spirit of revenge, linked to personal circumstances, and falls desperately in love with Asi (magnificently embodied by Tuba Buyukustun who illuminates the screen every time she appears) who lives on the Kozcuoglu farm and is a veterinarian. Both are fierce and proud ("Asi" being the name of a river (also known as Orontes) that flows from the south to the north and means "rebel" in Arabic), but Demir is particularly introverted and does not communicate easily. His aunt Suheila (Tulay Gunal) arrives in town as well and has the same thirst for vengeance and soon, this leads to several dreadful tragedies in which our protagonists are irreparably bruised and hurt. Beyond the main protagonists, we have Asi's lovely sister, Defne (Selma Ergec), and Demir's "brother" and best friend, Kerim (Cemal Hunal), who provide some light-hearted moments and is often the voice of reason, Asi's father, Ihsan (Cetin Tekindor) who has the necessary gravitas (and to whom she is particularly close), his wife Neriman (Nur Surer) who is a mama bear, and whose indignation often runs crescendo. All the supporting cast is really strong. The consequences of all the dramas that ensue are terrible for the main protagonists, who nearly lose each other and whose love remains intact, if not stronger, in spite of the terrible obstacles they encounter. They finally reunite and their story proves the healing power of love, as Demir finally listens to Asi. The chemistry between Buyukustun and Yildirim is beyond incredible, some scenes are just unforgettable and the filmography, with nature's unleashing elements, the raging sea, the freshly ploughed earth, the galloping horses, the carpets of flowers, the pouring rain, the antique monuments, is just magical.
