Continues to World Build in the Best Way.
tbirum12 June 2020
The Season Two Finale Continues to delight and Surprise. We are able to get a Glimpse of our Four favorite Vampires in a world "Post Guillermo" and then in the Same Episode we get to see Guillermo Embrace his true calling. This show has never failed to bring the laughs and in this episode it not only brought the laughs but continued its two year "World Building" With the Vampire Council closing in on our four favorite Vampires we get to see a New shift in Dynamics. Guillermo the Familiar, Guillermo The Protector?, Guillermo the Respected? Guillermo the Feared? I can not wait to see where Season three takes us. I love the Callbacks and look forward to seeing what new twists and turns will lie for us when it is revealed "What They Do in the Shadows"

This is getting incredibly good.

You just had to get used to the new characters and this show is now almost perfect. Two advises: 1. Extend episode length to min. 40 minutes. 2. Bring on season 3. Now.

Season Two Review
southdavid2 September 2020
Though I felt the first season of "What We Do In The Shadows" took a while to really get going, once it was up and running it was an excellent show. This second season doesn't have that problem, and although - if I'm honest, it's never really producing massive belly laughs from me, it's a consistently amusing and well plotted show.

Our trio of traditional vampires are back with Laszlo (Matt Berry) and Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) unable to secure a decent familiar of their own. Nandor's (Kayvan Novak) familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) is still trying to comes to terms with the idea that he might be descended from Van Helsing, but the consistent way he's dealing with the Vampire assassins that the council send for his masters, is pushing him in that direction. Meanwhile Colin (Mark Proksch) is attempting to integrate himself more into the group.

As I say, this is a much more even and consistent season than the first and though it doesn't exactly have me in fits of laughter each and every episode, I am constantly amused and entertained by it. Our five leads have their characters down now, and are joined by a cast of returning or debuting cameos, including Haley Joel Osment, Benedict Wong, Craig Robinson, Madeline Martin, Nick Kroll and Lucy Punch. Above them all though stands Mark Hamill, with a memorable turn as an aging Vampire, to whom Laszlo owes money, which sets up the strangest episode of the run, as Laszlo heads away to run a small town bar and finance the women's volleyball team.

Though not perhaps top top tier television, I really enjoy "WWDITS" and look forward to the third season.

maybe the best season finale for a tv show.
quaseprovisorio26 September 2021
What an episode. The tarantinesque vibe was beautiful. Guillermo had a great development in this season, and the finale confirms it. It has the non sense, the debauchery, the fun, the lines are all on point...it was a great season, and this finally just made it apotheotic.

Lets see how they will go with this. Because honestly this is the type of show that can get to 10 seasons with no problem. The possibilites are endless. I hope they keep the vibrante energy they are having. I dont laugh loud usually at this, but in this episode i did. It was really engaging.

Excellent Ending to Second Season
Hitchcoc7 September 2022
There are some great visuals here. When Guillarmo disappears things begin to fall apart. But it is mostly domestic stuff. Where normal shows would have a maid who left a mess, here the bodies of the victims of the blood letting are strewn around the house along with their effusions. Then things pick up and the foursome is invited to a theatre for vampires. But the stage show is to show how vampires have actually died in the house and, according to them, at the hands of Collin, Nando, Laszlo, and Nadja. Of course Guillarmo has been doing the killing in order to save his friend. Once again, he comes to the fore.

FANTASTIC

Incredible episode of TV.

Incredible premise and a fantastic way to close off the season.

I particularly enjoyed the build up to Guillermo being a vampire killer from wanting to become an actual vampire.

a belated review

Warning: Spoilers
Another milestone in Guillermo's plotline. The whole cast is wildly talented but even during the highs and lows (I'm already up to S5) the story is worth following for Gizmo's insane plotline. The other characters are static or have plot arcs that go in a circle. Even after the original vampire schtick has worn off and the humor starts getting stretched to the breaking point, it's worth it to keep going to see where they go with Gizmo and his essential conflict between being a vampire and being a vampire slayer. How did any one person get himself into such a mess? Watching Harvey Guillén kick butt on vampires is a rare treat. They need to do that more. Guess they are building to it...

Warning: Spoilers
Not a great finale, but a good episode, a fun episode, and a fitting end to a wild season. This show knows what it tries to do and while every joke doesn't land, it has such an easy flow that makes it a joy to watch.

End to a predictable but Okay Season
DuskShadow4 November 2020
Its unfortunate that a show can easily get repetitive over the last couple years, and even this fantastic vampire mockumentary is no full exception.

There was ample foreshadowing of things to come in the new season that was bluntly stated in the first: witches, guillermo killing more vampires, blah blah. However at least the executions (lol) were on point ( another lol for the vampire killing puns) most of the time. Sadly I was expecting much much more from the season finale, especially considering how the episode actually played out. Still no Baron Afanas? Pfft...bit lukewarm. I am still a fan of the show and look forward to the next season, but theres gotta be a bit more pizzazz next time. At least everythings out in the open now.
