Umm chill out maybe?
umar_n128 August 2008
I'm pretty surprised at the two reviews already written, since I, and the person with whom I watched it found it pretty daem funny. It's a filler episode for sure, but a good one, with a lot of laughs and the rare kind of child actress/actor that can actually act.

Now the reviews below seem to criticise the girl for her personality. They also seem to criticise the FICTIONAL colony for allowing young girls to become Queen. Now if you are watching this episode as a parenting exercise for how to raise your daughter to be obedient and not headstrong, this may not be the finest example. If you are watching this episode to discover the possible perils and pitfalls of royal birthright assuming control of a small nation, then in that case it would be educational.

However if you're watching it as a Stargate Atlantis episode it's simply very funny.

I really like this kind
aminwr8 November 2008
I have just seen this episode from the entire series! But if all the episodes are like this one, I love to see the whole seasons.

I really like these kinda movies concerning with brats! I love those one that in them, the annoying child has a good heart. (However I wasn't annoyed in this film) Two first reviewers didn't like this episode because of previous episodes. So it's likely I'll not like other episodes because of this one! This episode was fun. Two scientists and a child go throw an adventure. For a person who loves sci-fi, adventure, a little action, don't get angry when see a brat and mature enough to know which of the behaving he sees is right and which one is wrong, it's OK. It's great and it's surprising.

They don't have to show you right deeds to teach you something. We can learn right things when we see bad deeds too.

What I like about a movie is its atmosphere, relationships, dreams and nightmares so this is why I gave it 8/10

The one where Shep and McKay babysit...
cosmic_quest21 March 2009
'Harmony'~ Season four, episode fourteen

'Harmony' revolves around Sheppard and McKay reluctantly agreeing to accompany the haughty thirteen-year-old Princess Harmony on her pilgrimage that she must undertake before she is crowned queen of her planet. What starts as a babysitting gig turns into a quest to protect the girl from those who have their own agenda for who will inherit power on the planet.

Kids and sci-fi don't mix well so it is no surprise that this episode will not be a favourite for many since it heavily features a child, and one who is annoying at that. However, I did enjoy 'Harmony' because the child character is meant to be very much a brat and Jodelle Ferland, the young actress who undertook the role of Harmony, clearly revels in being exactly as pesky and obnoxious as possible. This is a humorous filler episode about Shep and McKay being lumbered with an annoying kid, who they could happily drown were it not for little things like morals! If you are determined to look for a lesson to be learned from the episode then it is perhaps an insight into the precarious nature of adolescent crushes (poor Shep's face when he sees the picture at the end nicely depicts that!) and just how ridiculous it is to allow bloodlines to determine leadership, especially when it forces an immature, inexperienced person forward to lead. However, overall, this is just a fun episode that is meant to just entertain.

Love the insight into Ancient tech at its beginnings.

The episode is great but prepare yourself for an annoying, egotistical, pompous, rude, arrogant, bratty 13 year old girl to be the highlight of the episode. I loved it though because Harmony is TOTALLY the actress that plays "Five" in Dark Matter! I knew she looked familiar! Helluva actress even at that young age!

Jodelle Ferland is great, writing-not so much
alienf3tus17 October 2018
I love Jodelle Ferland to death-been following her career since Silent Hill when I was 10, and she was still great in this as far as performance goes, but the writing for the character was terrible. She works with what she has and you can clearly see how great she can be as young Adria in the first episode of SG1 season 10. It's too bad the writing made her character to be so bratty and unlikeable. It's not just her, the entire episode was just annoying. Nothing of consequence happens, and there's no movement in the seasons arc - it's nothing but predictable filler.

The annoying brat princess ruins it...
peter-200226 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure if the stuff below can be counted as "spoilers", but I guess it might... so now you've been warned. :)

Here we go:

I've always preferred the more serious episodes of Stargate (both SG-1 and Atlantis), and I think the early years were the best, when many episodes connected back to ancient Earth history. With that said, I still like the more recent stuff too. After all, I'm a sci-fi lover in general.

What I usually _don't_ like with Stargate, are the episodes where they try too hard to be 'funny'. A funny comment every now and then is usually OK, but when entire episodes are meant to be 'funny', they usually aren't. (With some exceptions.)

Like this one...

It's about a young princess that must go on some quest and perform some mystical/magical task to prove she's worthy to become the new queen. Because of her youth, her sisters are concerned she might not be up to the task. McKay and Sheppard to the rescue...

Turns out the little princess is a spoiled and annoying brat that makes the entire journey miserable for her two followers. Sure, there are some real dangers too (aren't there always?), and the princess turns out to have some qualities too, but the dominating element in this episode is the annoying girl that goes on and on being annoying... and finally gets away with it. She didn't even learn a lesson!

Maybe you're more tolerant than me, then go ahead and watch it. If my review above makes you worried, keep your expectations low... who knows, you might even think it's actually funny! I didn't.

The worst of Stargate Atlantis and maybe Stargate in total
antony-12 October 2015
Just dreadful.

The opening moments are so predictable... two hot girls, McKay is interested in the third sister... will she be ugly or will she be young... ugly or young.

Oh young. SURPRISE!

And she's so annoying. The trouble is, the Stargate writers can only write so many types of personalities. So just like Laren is attempting to be Vahla, this young girl is like them both. They are written in the same style, despite this being a young girl she just is a puppet for that writing style.

Dreadfully uninteresting, unfunny... and no surprise this show - and indeed the Stargate franchise - was on its last legs at this point.

The Worst Of Stargate Atlantis So Far!!
HawksRevenge31 July 2008
**This comment does not include spoilers** Boy do I second the notion that the earlier poster commented on. This episode makes absolutely no sense at all, and first you have a child who is to be the future queen and she lies, deceives, steals, and just about every cliché that a spoiled little teen girl can accomplish.

This episode has no redeeming qualities at all, I mean are you telling me that a future queen will have the wisdom for the good of the people.

I personally think any parent or guardian that spoils a child in such a manner as to empower them to abusive or disrespectful behavior should be put against a wall and shot.

In a world of 8 billion people there is nothing special about anyone that would warrant this type of behavior.

Mean girls or narcissistic women who look in the mirror and fall in love with what they see should also be forced to sit through a class at college called wake up call-101 That said this episode obviously was the worst of Stargate Atlantis so far and I don't think I would choose to re watch the mess!!

Annoying
l-726307 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I just can't bear with such a disturbing, arrogant, pretentious, selfish teenager girl who happens to be the center of this episode. And her name is "Harmony". That is hilarious. So annoying. Just so annoying.

Awful
markjmckenna6 December 2022
Avoid at all costs. No one but Shepherd, a whiny McKay and a spoiled brat of a queen. A complete waste of time. Of late the writing has been getting worse and worse but this episode is awful. It seems that stories are based on how they can reuse existing sets as opposed to advancing any story arcs. E Ben Shepherd was getting tired of both of them as the endless hour progressed. No wonder why Amanda left the Stargate universe after this drivel. Even a few episodes back, they present an interesting evil Dr Weir just to immediately drop her for more walks around a dark dreary Wraith ship just to be repeated for a walk in the dark woods and caves.
