half-hearted bummer of a series finale
RavenGlamDVDCollector18 December 2015
I am the guy diligently writing the synopses for this series. SAVANNAH is a favorite show, and I do it as an act of love. But this two-part series finale, "Oh No, Mr. Bill" and "I Don't", much grumbling in my heart. The only explanation was that they knew the show was canceled, zero chance they're coming back, the ship had sunk, and the storyline of the oh- screw-this script shows that.

Witness any episode prior to the 'big finale' and compare with this bland, bland, bland attempt that lacks imagination and looks like it was put together by the catering department and the gaffers. A no-brainer closing episode which simply utilizes all the characters in a script that lacks the spark the fans are used to. Also, Peyton, star of the show, Jamie Luner, lacks her usual zing. In both parts of this double episode.

Any decent writer should have realized that the beauty of this show lies in its deceit and subterfuge. When all this is torn down, as happened, we are just left with the bitter vinegar. Okay, so there is a viable story in this as well, but fun... No. A third season was doomed anyway, the story ran its course. But forget about that, I'm talking about what we do have, and these two episodes, they lacked fun. The inevitable unattractive bitter end, with two vengeful heroines, Reese, who unfortunately turned shrewy a long way back in this season, and Peyton, a latter-day Scarlett O'Hara facing a ruined present and having to get back at the world. Executed poorly. What we have here, is not only no fun, it is badly done. Hastily, uncared for. A downer de luxe.

So, we have said farewell on a downward spiral. I trust this would not have been the case if the show had not been junked in favor of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

It all remains a crying shame.

Anyway, I am in a bad mood now, and the synopsis for this "I Don't" will now not be written, because I Don't want to.
