So we get a payoff for Maxxie's stalker which has been hinted at in the previous episodes.
Sketch is one of the most troubled characters in the series, and, as someone who has no issues with dark character study in film and television, I found her very compelling. Aimee-Ffion Edwards plays her bite and just enough melodramatics that Skins is known for. Multiple scenes are just teeming with toe-dips into gender exploration etc. (the scene in Maxxie's bed is very interesting when you note her costuming).
It does grind the overarching narrative to a halt, but it's similar to a "monster of the week" episode type, serving as a fun, depressing and often unnerving break in pace.
