It's somewhat getting better

I truly enjoy this episode it took me a moment to get invested into the show but as it goes on I think we see how similar juliens & zoya relationships is to Blair & Serena's. Clearly the two are related by blood and both share a bond over the lost of their mother yet juliens social status and her minions (Luna & Monet) aren't so thrilled with zoya's presence and if anything they hate her. Reminds me a lot of Blair and serena as the two would always have something to feud over and have these high & low moments throughout their friendship. So far I feel like max, zoya, julien, Audrey and aki seem to have strong storylines but im losing luna, monet, and Obie who feel like minor characters. I definitely want to see more of luna & Monet i would also love a more focal theme/drama it seems like every episode something "big" happens and it's never explain throughly or the characters pretend it never happen. Such as there was no explanation as to why the dad didn't get along and I do miss how in the Og gossip girl the parents/adults play important part in their children's lives and had drama of their own i would've love to see more of Audrey's mom and the issues going on in her home life same for aki, luna, Monet, and obie. There's still something missing about the show that doesn't make it feel like true gossip girl nature but hopefully it gets better.

This episode is a perfect example of why the show doesn't work
Siloet198 August 2021
I will give them credit for trying to go down an old GG trope plot line, but it doesn't work. It would be equivalent to trying and have Dan and Serena go to war before establishing his place throughout the entire first season. The teachers are a drag on the show as well. The characters are a mess. You can't be this amazing cool accepting person who is living in 2021 and trying to play games out of 2010. Heck, you can't even use the same vocabulary because of how much has changed. Half of the characters are poorly written as they are trying to push a social message, but need drama for the show. Meanwhile the other half really work to undercut one of the main overarching themes of this show. This show is not about Gossip Girl. It was in the first episode, but now that plot line is all but abandoned. It's just all around poor writing.

They could do so much better
narrymotherchuckers1 August 2021
Its honestly a good production and the cast is great and the fashion too

But why in 2021 they just cant make a good drama?

Why the writing is so poor even though is a reboot?

I mean you already had the main idea, there was not so much to create

This has so much potential but it's so vain and lacks of purpose inspiration and meaning Last episodes werent that bad as this one in my opinion

Please do better!

This episode was a complete letdown...wow

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I've been really hyping this series up every week and giving it a rating of 10, but this episode really just showcased all the obvious issues with the reboot.

There's like no plot or storylines honestly, it's all over the place. It's already feeling repetitive and it's only episode 4.

The writing is extremely bad and weak, everyone feels super stiff. The directing is really off like. The covid restrictions are very obvious, everything feels bubbled. There's no suspense and everything is so rushed to be resolved. It's not like in the original where it has to on the edge of your seat needing the next episode, the way these episodes end every week have you feel like it's the season finale.

Georgina's son appearing felt really random and forced in the episode.

It's like they're scared for any of the characters to do anything wrong, I don't feel emotionally invested in any of the characters or their relationships at all. There's way too many people fighting for screentime.

The teachers are so irrelevant and so forced into the plot. It's just so bad, and it's like they flip flop back and forth if we're suppose to be rooting for these weird adults or not..

Worst episode so far
rickydicto30 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The entire episode feels like it is either forced or rushed. It is so repetitive, and I started to give up on the storyline. And, no one wants to see student-teacher arc. Come on, do better, GG. (Eventhough I'll probably stop watching after this episode).

Honestly...
thiagosblancos29 July 2021
This show is getting worst by the episode, I was a bit curious after the 2nd one whether there was any hope at all, those were absolutely crashed by this one.

I would not be surprised if this does not live to a 2nd season.
