Mike Colter starred in Marvel Television's Luke Cage from 2015 to 2018 and, like the rest of those heroes, his time as the character reached an abrupt end amid a wave of cancellations. That was Netflix's way of responding to the launch of Disney+, but after a couple of years of waiting, Marvel Studios is free to do what it likes with Power Man and company.
The Defenders TV shows are supposedly considered "canon" to the wider MCU and, with Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal reprising their roles as Daredevil and The Punisher in 2025's Born Again, could Colter eventually join them as Power Man?
The actor was always something of a divisive choice, and replacing the 47-year-old with a younger lead more in line with the comic book version of the character perhaps makes the most sense. For what it's worth, Colter remains open to playing Cage again, even...

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has faced numerous challenges during its development, but remains highly anticipated. Initially, insiders described the project as dull and significantly different from expectations.
Fans were particularly disappointed to learn that Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen would not be returning. However, there have been recent creative changes, including a reduced episode count and a shift in focus to a new premise. Additionally, beloved characters are set to make a return, much to the delight of fans.

Variety has shared a piece on 2024's streaming titles, confirming Echo is the second most-viewed series on Disney+ this year so far. It's an impressive achievement, particularly as Marvel Studios dropped all five episodes at once, leading to the show being quickly forgotten.
We've seen in recent years that weekly drops are much better for keeping people talking about new titles (which goes against Netflix's once highly successful streaming model of releasing every episode at once).
Rumour has it Echo suffered from quite a few issues behind the scenes, with six instalments becoming five, as a result. That could explain why they hit Disney+ on the same day, though reviews were somewhat positive as is evident from the show's 71% Rotten Tomatoes score.
However, putting this news into context is the fact, "[Percy Jackson and the Olympians] accounts for nearly a quarter of Disney+ original series viewing time so far...

1989’s The Trial of the Incredible Hulk was a made-for-television movie that served as a backdoor pilot for a Daredevil television series. The film also introduced viewers to Matt Murdock / Daredevil and Wilson Fisk / Kingpin. However, before they could go on to headline their own series, plans were scrapped for an unexpected reason.

Jon Bernthal's Punisher is officially back in action. New photos taken from the set of "Daredevil: Born Again" have confirmed the return of the actor's version of Frank Castle, who first appeared on the Marvel Netflix shows nearly a decade ago. But five years after "The Punisher" was canceled by the streaming service, Bernthal is reuniting with his old frenemy Matt Murdock (once again played by Charlie Cox).

The above image sees Bernthal looking very much like the Frank Castle fans of the Netflix shows remember -- bloody, jacked, and ready for vengeance on the streets of New York City. You can also see Bernthal and Cox reunited in costume below. Unfortunately, we don't get a great sense of what's going on in the scenes in question, but it certainly looks like they're getting bloody and kicking ass. But are they on friendly terms this time around?...

Jon Bernthal is back playing Frank Castle (aka Punisher) on the set of “Daredevil: Born Again,” new set photos from which have the character paired up with Charlie Cox’s eponymous hero and soaked in blood. The Disney+ series is now filming in New York City. Bernthal debuted as Frank Castle in Netflix’s “The Punisher” series, which aired for two seasons and 26 episodes between 2017 and 2019.
“Daredevil: Born Again” is bringing back a handful of actors from Netflix’s Marvel series. In addition to Cox and Bernthal, also set to appear in the series are Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Franklin “Foggy” Nelson), Wilson Bethel (Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin). ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is generating a lot of buzz as one of the most anticipated MCU projects. This buzz is fueled by fan excitement and the series’ tumultuous production history, which has faced challenges such as the SAG-AFTRA strike and creative disagreements between the showrunners and the studio.
Due to these issues, it was announced several months ago that the show would undergo significant changes, with a new creative team taking the helm. Dario Scardapane has been appointed as the new showrunner, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will serve as the co-directing team.
After the SAG-AFTRA strike ended, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ resumed filming by January 22. As filming approaches its conclusion, new set photos and videos are emerging, offering insights into the show.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of the most talked-about upcoming MCU projects, partly due to the fan-fueled hype and partly due to its turbulent production that’s been plagued with everything from SAG-AFTRA strike to creative differences in what the showrunners wanted and what the studio wanted.
This is why several months ago, it was announced that the show would partially be scrapped with a new creative team that would sign their names on the upcoming McU-based TV show. Dario Scardapane will act as a new showrunner for the series, with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead announced as the co-directing team.
Following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was back on set by January 22, and now that filming is nearing its end, new set photos and videos are resurfacing revealing plenty of details about the show.

The upcoming MCU show, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ is generating a lot of buzz. It marks the full integration of Daredevil into the MCU and serves as a soft reboot for the character. While much of the storyline remains under wraps, we do know that Murdock will be starting a new law firm and will encounter Wilson Fisk, who is running for mayor of New York.
The show has faced its share of challenges during development, including a total rework despite filming more than half of the episodes. Fans were particularly disappointed by the initial decision to exclude Foggy and Karen from the series. Originally, both characters were rumored to meet unfortunate fates between Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Born Again,’ but subsequent reworking of the show brought them back into the fold.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is the hottest upcoming MCU show. The show will finally merge Daredevil completely with the MCU and will serve kind of like a soft reboot of the character. The story is in large part unknown. We know that Murdock will be starting a new law firm, and will along the way cross paths with Wilson Fisk, as he is running for the mayor of New York.
The show has been through a lot over the course of development, including being almost completely scrapped at the point where more than half of the episodes were already filmed. The decision to omit Foggy and Karen from the show did not sit well with the fans. Originally, both characters were reportedly supposed to meet their ends between Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Born Again,’ however, rework of the show brought them back.

On the heels of What If…? season one’s warm reception, Marvel Studios head of streaming Brad Winderbaum knew that now was the time to pursue his longtime dream of reviving the beloved Fox Kids show X-Men: The Animated Series. The series aired from 1992 to 1997, and Winderbaum, as executive producer, is on the verge of releasing X-Men ’97, which picks up right where the original series left off as the classic X-Men characters are forced to find a way forward without the leadership of Professor Charles Xavier.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige required only two conditions before giving his blessing on the latest Disney+ animated series.
“Following the success of What If…?, when we were able to make more animated shows, [X-Men ’97] was my first idea out of the box. And Kevin [Feige] was like, ‘Alright, if we can get the [original] cast and we can get the song, let’s do it.

We can barely contain our excitement about the news that Disney+ is bringing back Daredevil in a bid to reignite the character for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The glimpses of Matt Murdock that we got on Echo and Spiderman: No Way Home were great, but we have missed this tortured, hopeless do-gooder and his heart of gold.
At the risk of sounding like a superfan (guilty), this Marvel nerd has faithfully watched everything that has led up to this moment, hoping for an eventual Daredevil return.
Now that it's actually happening, there's a lot to cover -- let's dive in.

MCU’s attempts to change how studios approached TV has been a hit or miss, as apart from Loki and a few exceptions, the reception to most Disney Plus MCU shows has been mixed. And it seems the failure of high-budget shows like She-Hulk and Secret Invasion was the last nail in the coffin, as moving forward, the studio will be approaching the medium more traditionally.
This resulted in MCU’s upcoming show, Daredevil Born Again, starring Charlie Cox, undergoing a complete overhaul, with its production going back to square one. Fortunately, this resulted in two fan favorites from the original show being incorporated into the new one, and Cox couldn’t be happier about the matter.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has faced significant challenges during its development, generating anticipation among fans. Initially, insiders suggested the show would be quite different, with some even deeming it dull. Fans were disappointed to learn that Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen wouldn’t return for the “reboot,” sparking outcry on social media.
However, there have since been creative changes announced for ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ including a reduction in episode count and a new premise, with the return of beloved characters. Following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike, leaked set photos on social media confirmed Karen and Foggy’s return.
At AwesomeCon in Washington, D.C., Charlie Cox shared his candid thoughts on the story’s evolution.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is a much-anticipated project despite having an incredibly difficult development. Initially, the show was supposed to be really different, and some of the insiders even went as far as describing it as boring. The biggest shock however was that Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen won’t return to the “reboot,” which left fans angry and a crowd went to social media to protest their absence.
Then it was announced that there have been some creative shifts when it comes to ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and that the show will undergo a significant overhaul, slashing its episode count and centering on a new premise, and naturally, bringing again fan-favorite characters.
When the shooting resumed followed by the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike fans had their 100 % confirmation that Karen and Foggy were back, based on the set photos that leaked all over various social media profiles.

One of the most highly anticipated MCU productions is certainly ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ This is partly due to the fan-fueled hype and partly due to its turbulent production that’s been plagued with everything from the SAG-AFTRA strike to creative differences in what the showrunners wanted and what the studio wanted.
It yet remains unclear how connected ‘Born Again’ will be to the Netflix series, and the majority of the plot remains largely unknown except for the fact that Daredevil will be starting a new law firm, he will face off against Muse, and Wilson Fisk will be running for Mayor. What we do know is that several notable characters from Netflix’s production will be making a return. Both Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen were seen on set so that settles those rumors. The question of whether Bernthal’s Punisher would return as well...

Netflix’s Daredevil series was widely acclaimed for its gripping storyline and fantastic cast, but what sets it apart from other Marvel projects at the time was its love for violence.
Daredevil from Marvel Comics
Indeed, the show promised brutal action as well as gory fight scenes, and while fans may think the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is gruesome enough, his comic book counterpart is way more wicked and evil.
Matt Murdock Mercilessly Attempts To Kill A Baby
Nerdak Comics from YouTube gave a summary of Matt Murdock’s most insane plot line in Marvel Comics. If he is portrayed in the show as reasonable, this comic book character is as ruthless as he can be.
“In one of Mysterio’s stranger schemes, he has relations with a woman and she becomes pregnant. After her child is born, she gives the baby to Daredevil believing he’s supposed to care for it.

Jon Bernthal’s appearance on Hot Ones certainly made for one of the most iconic episodes of the beloved talk show. The actor started by making it explicitly clear that he had a horrible spice tolerance, and ended with him having tears in his eyes and strings of curses leaving his mouth. One can imagine there to be nothing worse in that entire experience than having the final bite of the spiciest wing.
Jon Bernthal
However, as he revealed, there can be something much more horrible. The hours after eating such spicy food seem to be some of the most tense in every way possible. Bernthal revealed that after he appeared on the show, he was to board a flight, which he almost didn’t do due to just how stressed he was about using the washroom.

Also, the show is expected to be darker and grittier. As the show’s episodes are being filmed, reports indicate that the new show may witness the saddest MCU death in recent times. It could be very hard for the MCU fans.

Marvel Studios may have been gambling with characters as they have reportedly shifted their focus to Daredevil’s feud with Kingpin more than anything. However, there will not just be one villain.

I often lambast the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the "same old, same old" feeling of its movies and television — so I feel a little hypocritical calling the revival series "Daredevil: Born Again" my most anticipated Marvel project.
"Daredevil" ran for three seasons on Netflix from 2015-2018, but was canceled afterward. Like its sister shows, it was a casualty of Marvel and Netflix decoupling from their creative partnership. However, since it was the most consistently acclaimed of the Marvel/Netflix shows and the title character has the biggest built-in audience, "Daredevil" will be born again on Disney+.
As for why I'm excited? "Daredevil" was counterprogramming to the quippy fluff of the MCU movies, with a darker tone and more violence. Plus, what can I say, I'm a fan of the character. If you aren't familiar, Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer blessed with enhanced senses to compensate. At night, he patrols...

Disney+’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again may be getting even more familiar faces, as it has been reported that both Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will reprise their respective characters from the original Daredevil series, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page.
Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll were key supporters throughout Daredevil’s three seasons when it aired on Netflix. That they’re expected to return – alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil – is most certainly reason for fans to be even more excited for Born Again. While it wasn’t anticipated that Henson and Woll would reprise their roles, they have stayed loyal to the characters: both turned up alongside Cox in The Defenders, while Henson would pop up as Foggy on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and Woll had a short run on The Punisher TV series.

Not so long ago, a bright and insightful writer at the venerable pop culture site Den of Geek noted that the Kingpin of Crime Wilson Fisk could fill a gaping hole in the MCU. At the end of the fifth and final episode of Echo, that prediction looks even more sound.
Echo builds to a strange climax, in which Maya Lopez aka Echo gains indistinct superpowers and spreads them to her sister and grandmother to help them fight off Fisk and his men. But instead of punching Fisk into submission or shooting him in the face again, as she did at the end of Hawkeye, Maya performs something of a mind-meld on her adopted uncle.
The move forces him to relive his memories as a boy, listening to his father beat his mother. As Vincent D’Onofrio takes his giant baby approach to playing Fisk to its furthest extreme,...

Spoilers for "Echo" follow.
It wouldn't be a Marvel Studios production without a post-credits stinger. Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) limps back home to New York City. As fate would have it, the jet's television is playing a new broadcast about the NYC mayor's race, with the subhead "No Clear Frontrunner."
Fisk turns up the volume and hears a panelist recounting polls that show most NYC voters' "ideal candidate [is] somebody who is a fighter." The host adds, "There are legitimate problems in the city right now — the voters want somebody who understands the pain they're going through," and the panelist replies, "A bare-knuckled brawler would do well in this race, an outsider, somebody who is not afraid to take on the establishment." However, as they lament, no such candidate has emerged and the race is in its last legs.
This commentary plays over a slow zoom-in on Fisk's face,...

It's long been debated whether the Netflix Marvel series were Marvel Cinematic Universe canon. The shows advertised themselves as being connected to the MCU movies; "Daredevil" obliquely referred to the alien invasion of New York City in "The Avengers" as "the incident," and criminal overseer Wesley (Toby Leonard Moore) even quipped to some goons, "If [Daredevil] had an iron suit or a magic hammer, maybe that would explain why you keep getting your asses handed to you." However, these connections were very much a one-way street.
Since then, though, Vincent D'Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin on "Hawkeye," while Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "She-Hulk." Marvel fans have been starved for more details about the upcoming live-action Daredevil: Born Again series, which will see Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively. However, a mid-credits scene in Echo’s Season 1 finale — which closed out a five-episode binge drop Tuesday on Disney+ and Hulu — may have just given us an important clue about what’s to come.

Marvel Studios has numerous projects in development, and ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is a particularly anticipated soft reboot, bringing back familiar faces from the original show. Despite the excitement surrounding ‘Born Again,’ the show faced challenges, including the impact of the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, leading to creative differences between the studio and the writers.
In late September 2023, Marvel Studios decided to revamp the first season after filming less than half of its episodes, replacing head writers Corman and Ord, along with the initial directors, to realign with the tone of the Netflix series. New showrunner Dario Scardapane, associated with Netflix’s Daredevil spin-off ‘The Punisher,’ was appointed, accompanied by directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead from Marvel Studios’ ‘Moon Knight’ and the second season of ‘Loki.’
The exact episode count for the overhauled season remains uncertain, but reports suggest that filming is set to resume in January to complete the remaining episodes.

When Charlie Cox reprises Matt Murdock for the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, it will mark a welcome return. While Cox has played the character in small bits in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Born Again will no doubt be the proper return that fans want. But, like fans, Charlie Cox wasn’t so sure he would ever play Murdock / Daredevil ever again, figuring his stint ended when his namesake Netflix series did.
Appearing recently at Wales Comic Con (via GamesRadar), Charlie Cox said he assumed that once Daredevil was canceled, that was it. “I really thought that ship had sailed, you know? I thought it was over…It had been a couple of years since [Netflix’s Daredevil had been canceled]. What I didn’t know was there was an embargo on that. So, there was an amount of time – I think it was probably two years...

At a time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe is floundering like it never has before, Marvel Studios top dog Kevin Feige and co. have found a remarkably unlikely team of saviors in multi-hyphenates Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. The sensibilities of the pair behind such off-kilter sci-fi horror films as "Synchronic" and "Something in the Dirt" proved to be a surprisingly perfect fit for "Moon Knight," an MCU show that often balanced precariously at the intersection of action-adventure, supernatural horror, and dark comedy. When the duo returned to direct the majority of "Loki" season 2, they delivered a similarly dizzying blend of trippy sci-fi, whimsical humor, and creepy horror, bringing the God of Mischief's tale to a frequently confusing, always engaging, and ultimately satisfying ending.
It's little wonder, then, that Feige and friends turned to Benson and Moorhead once again when they needed someone to overhaul "Daredevil: Born Again," the upcoming...
