"We can do this! He's coming back to us..." Rlje Films has released an official trailer for a super freaky new horror thriller titled Anything for Jackson, from filmmaker Justin G. Dyck. This originally premiered at the Fantasia and Nightstream Film Festivals last year, and it's arriving on VOD soon. A bereaved Satanist couple kidnap a pregnant woman so they can use an ancient spellbook to put their dead grandson's spirit into her unborn child but end up summoning more than they bargained for. This looks like a crazy twist on the unusual "we want to bring back our kid" story, involving grandparents and some truly messed up evil, making them regret their resurrection. The film stars Sheila McCarthy, Julian Richings, Konstantina Mantelos, and Yannick Bisson. This looks like it has unsettling scares and crazy twists once it gets going. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Justin G. Dyck's Anything for Jackson,...

In his latest podcast/interview, host and screenwriter Stuart Wright talks to director Justin G Dyck about making the horror film Anything For Jackson, which is out now via Shudder.
After losing their only grandson, Jackson, in a car accident, grief-stricken Audrey (Sheila McCarthy) and Henry (Julian Richings), a doctor, kidnap Henry’s pregnant patient with the intention of performing a “reverse exorcism,” putting Jackson inside her unborn child. It doesn’t take long to figure out Jackson isn’t the only ghost the grandparents invited into their home. Now, it’s a race against time for the couple, as well as the pregnant woman, to figure a way out of the haunting they’ve set upon themselves.

After a successful festival run, Justin G. Dyck’s Anything for Jackson made its debut on Shudder earlier this month. Starring Julian Richings, Sheila McCarthy, and Konstantina Mantelos, the film is centered around a grieving pair of grandparents who kidnap a young woman in hopes of transferring the soul of their deceased grandson into her soon-to-be born child, and as expected, things don’t exactly go according to plan.
Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to speak with Dyck about his latest directorial effort, and he discussed his collaborative process with the film’s writer, Keith Cooper, bringing on his talented ensemble for Anything for Jackson, the inspiration behind the film’s collection of spooky spectres, and more.
Thanks for taking time to chat today, Justin, and great job on Anything for Jackson. There's just some really great character stuff that you guys worked into this story that balances out against all the genre elements,...

Justin G. Dyck has directed over 15 feel-good, holiday films including Christmas in Paris, Christmas Catch and Christmas with a Prince. This year he is mixing it up with his “anti-Nativity” horror tale Anything for Jackson. The film follows a bereaved Satanist couple who kidnap a pregnant woman so they can use an ancient spellbook to put their dead grandson’s spirit into her unborn child, but end up summoning more than they bargained for. Since a good horror film isn’t complete without a chilling score, we spoke with Anything for Jackson composer John McCarthy. Below we asked McCarthy 9 questions
