This project was such a good watch. As a black gay actor one would have loved to see someone like myself on the screen in the old Hollywood films (pictures). I thoroughly enjoyed the realism as well as the fantasy and parts of history many wish would have been different. For a moment we held our breaths and remembered why we love this craft so much.

A Corny Soap Opera That Tries Too hard
clintstevens7 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
'Hollywood' tries to cover every topic imaginable. From homosexuals coming out (this is the 1940s and gays are portrayed as heroes...not very factual), multiracial couples (both male couples and male and female). A dastardly villain (Boo! Hiss!), male prostitutes whose front is a gas station ('Where are you going?' 'I'm going to dreamland.')
The writing is abysmal as is the acting for the most part. This is an embarrassment for everyone involved.
I give it 2 stars just because it's interesting to see how some of the stars like Holland Taylor, Patti LuPone, and Rob Reiner have aged (not gracefully).
