Not properly thought through

Warning: Spoilers
I really don't like Marisol in this episode. She didn't think her point through. If she argues with the logic she uses, only Italians are allowed to sell pizza and pasta, only Germans are allowed to sell most bread, and only the French are allowed to sell croissants. It seems like she's looking for trouble for the sake of trouble

Episode a complete miss

I was going to say exactly what the previous reviewer said.

In London England, we have people from different ethnicities with restaurants and takeaways that are foods from other cultures, and sometimes it's done ON PURPOSE.

I don't know how the writers and the actors though that the premise was agreeable. My favourite fish and chip shops over my lifetime have always been owned and ran by Greeks, Turks or Lebanese chefs. My friends Chinese parents have a fish and chip shop. I know a Nigerian guy with an Italian restaurant. And I know an Italian couple with a french restaurant. And one of my favourite Italian restaurants is owned and ran by Lithuanians.

How cultural misappropriation stems to not being able to sell other foods is ridiculous.

Not a fun watch

Culture especially when it comes to food has always been appropriated. Most of japanese cuisine is appropriated, Indian cuisine borrows from middle eastern and fusion foods exist. When it comes to cultural appropriation dismissing the origin of the culture is the main point.

This was a sad watch, with Marisol being proclaimed right, when her viewpoint is extremely narrow. Additionally, why bring down another POC with similar background (filipinos have spanish in their language, were colonized by spanish, and have cultural elements similar to latinos). It was touched upon in the end, but I would have prefered if it were another ethnicity/race appropriating the cuisine. And finding their similarities towards the end.

What is most annoying is how Marisol easily dismisses the comfort of many other latinx people in her school feel with the food Bob cooks.

Not worth rewatching.
