For Those Wondering
johnnydoejoe18 June 2021
For those wondering why NCIS Los Angeles showed up on episodes of NCIS; simply put this was the PILOT EPISODES for the new series.

When the Original NCIS Series appeared (the one you're currently watching with Gibbs-Tony-etc) the NCIS Series first appeared on the show JAG!

During JAG Season 8 - Episodes 20 & 21 are the Pilot Episodes for NCIS. JAG ended after season 10 I believe.

Now you have both NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles that continue to air even in 2021!

NCIS Season 7 is the start of the Series Premier of NCIS Los Angeles! They are currently on NCIS Season 19 and NCIS LA Season 13.

*Sidenote NCIS New Orleans came and went after several seasons. Don't bother watching it - it's beyond awful!*

*The Fall of 2021 will premier NCIS Hawaii Season 1*

When you begin watching NCIS Los Angeles - Specifically Season 2/3 - you'll see a Cross-Over Episode with the CBS Show HAWAII FIVE-0!

Expect if Covid lets up you'll see cast members from both NCIS & NCIS LA to show up on the new series of NCIS HAWAII to help boost viewership.

Any other questions feel free to send'em my way. Hope this helped!

Ridiculous plot point
jezlang27 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So Gibbs has had an 18-year grudge against Mace ...because she investigated him as part of a JAG case when he murdered the man responsible for the deaths of his wife and daughter. Gibbs faced NO consequences, which means she (Mace) either cleared him or found out the truth, and buried it. Either way, he got away with it and went on with his life. (As it turns out, she buried it.) ZERO basis for a grudge for 18 minutes, let alone 18 years. But hey, it makes for a contrived, tense plot point, allowing Mark Harmon to do some more trademark squint-staring. Stupid.

Plot Holes: Part 1
nebohr12 November 2021
FIRST PLOT HOLE: At 05:01- since none of the wires were connected to the victim's watch it was not part of the electrical circuit and therefore could not have been damaged by electrical current. SECOND PLOT HOLE: At 05:10- Ducky claims that "a sustained electrical current across the victim's chest" is what killed him. The bare copper wires are all criss-crossed so no current could have been applied ACROSS the chest. THIRD PLOT HOLE: At. 06:31- Vance tells Gibbs that "Chandler's mother was beaten half to death" so he was given a quarter-million dollars to deliver else "they" would return to finish off his mother. Why wouldn't Chandler take both his mother and the money and disappear?

It is idiotic to presume that the left coast headquarters would have superior capabilities over the right coast headquarters.

A new crew
lor_5 August 2023
Too much time is taken up in this segment on background - introducing some of the new L. A. team like O'Donnell and LL Cool J, plus exploring Ziva's subplot. This made it tough to get into the main story beginning with the ritualistic murder of a marine. (Similarly, the problem of writing in something for everyone in a cast to do is made even more unwieldy when two teams are included.)

I like actress Louise Lombard, and in retrospect wonder why she was bumped for Linda Hunt to head up the new team instead. Obviously radically different characters, but how could the writers' conception for the new series have come up with so radically different types to fill the same niche (boss)?
