The main character of this series is a little girl, Borka, who has a magic dress adorned with a traditionally embroidered motif representing a family tree. Borka inherited the dress from her great-grandmother. Through the magic, she can travel across her family tree with helping animals and find solutions on her own through the different family stories from the past. In each and every episodes, Borka faces new challenges. One morning Borka wakes up to a quarrel with his parents. Yes, this can happen in any family. Unfortunately, little ones often start to get anxious if they don't understand exactly what's going on. Why this morning quarrel? Maybe because of her? Of course not.

"The little ones again. Why don't we just take them back to the hospital" Borka looks furiously. She starts scribbling over the half-finished leveret on the paper that Mama has drawn. Then she puts both of her palms on the ink pad. She then mischievously goes over to the wall and angrily begins patting her ink-soiled hands on its surface. Mama comes back into the room holding two 5-6 month old Mama is disappointed Borka decides to run away. The leverets show her how funny can be to live in a big family and how to be a good big sister.

The Dear family is celebrating the twins' first birthday. They blow out candles. Borka gives her siblings a drawing. Great-grandmother is very weak, she brings the family a gift, the old photo album. A few days later, the phone rings during lunch. Mama tears up and says that great-grandma has died. Borka is unsettled. How to process the grief?

Borka is anxious because of the dark winter evening. The light from the street lamp draws frightening shadows on her bedroom wall. She creeps into bed. She notices a scary shadow on the wall and is frightened. "Don't worry!" - she calms her little doll and herself. Fortunately Papa comes into the room. Borka asks him to tell her, her favorite tale: "The little bunny who is afraid of the dark". Then Mama and Papa kiss Borka and turn off the light. In the middle of the night she wakes up and sees again the frightening shadows on the wall. Her magic dress helps her again, it begins to sparkle and a hedgehog and a dozen fireflies lead her to portraits of her ancestors who were also afraid of the dark.

Borka wakes up on the wrong side of the bed one rainy morning. She doesn't want to get dressed, have breakfast or anything else at all for that matter. Her magic dress comes to the rescue yet once again. All she has to do is say the magic spell and she is ready to travel back in time. Her ancestors help her deal with the ill-fated morning episode and get her back on track through their own experiences.

On a sunny snowy day the Dear family go sledding. On the way home Borka sees a homeless. In the afternoon they bake gingerbread and Borka asks about the man who was sitting in front of their house. "You know, Borka, there are poor people who have nothing, no family, no house, no food." Mama proposes to take some cookies to their neighbour, Aunt Eta, but Borka doesn't wan't to share at all the yummy ginger-breads. Not at all. In the past family stories she learns that giving is good. As good as receiving.

The sun is shining beautifully, but none of Borka's friends are on the playground. Plus, nothing succeeds: she's overtaken at the swing, not allowed to slide down the slide, and Borka, though she wants to, doesn't dare address the only cute little girl. Borka not only learns friendship tricks in past stories, but also that children with Down syndrome were born with one more chromosome, some of whom use sign language. And they are a bit different than the others. Or not?

Borka would like to go to the beach. That's normal. The weather is beautiful. But they can't. Borka has chickenpox, and it is very contagious. They can't go anywhere for at least two more weeks. It's almost certain that the twins caught it, too. This is terribly difficult for a little girl to accept. Borka is frustrated. But fortunately the magic dress helps her. With the family stories she learns how she is going to get over chickenpox. A few little ideas can make illness and confinement more pleasant.

Papa comes home cheerfully from playing football. Mama is especially pretty, her hairstyle is also new. Papa doesn't notice anything but talks all the time about the match. Borka is terribly bored. Mama doesn't have time to play with her, she is very busy. Borka has tried to build and draw with her little sister, but she can only "scribble." What can be done then? A little pig arrives from the magic dress to show family stories. Borka learns what the children used to play. It's time for Borka to get started too. The choreography is being prepared for the music of Swan Lake.

Borka plays "big girl" with her little sister. They put on Mama's clothes, high-heeled shoes, flicker in front of the mirror. Borka also pulls out Mama's favorite zebra necklace, but unfortunately it breaks. Borka decides to keep it a secret. However, her conscience does not let her rest. She walks around the magic tree with a little boob and learns that honesty is the best and that ""forgive me" and "so sorry" are a magic words, and if we say them, we can be a wizard too!"

Borka happily tells the neighbor's aunt that she is going to Papa's workplace in the pool where she will learn to swim. In the pool, however, it turns out that Borka does not dare to put her head in water. The others make fun of her, Borka is desperated. Two turtles rush to her aid. Borka is happy to see on the magic tree that she is not alone with this fear: Aunt Erna and Grandpa were afraid of water.

Aunt Eta is the next door neighbour, and everyone loves her, and her cat, Gisela. Aunt Eta keeps the flowers in order, she sweeps in front of the house. One day Borka see an ambulance at their house. Aunt Eta broke her leg, she needs surgery. Borka enthusiastically promises to water the flowers, but unfortunately she doesn't keep her promise. Returning home, Aunt Eta gratefully thanks Borka for her help. Borka is terribly ashamed. But fortunately there is still a solution. In this story Borka learns how important is to keep a promise.
