- Previously on Gossip Girl: Chuck and Blair -- seduction derailed! Nate and Dan -- new friends! Jenny -- new designer!
Blair is getting all super-hot with Chuck... or so it seems! Dorota walks in just as Blair is trying to, er, finish something! Out, German maid! Don't forget, Miss Blair, that God is always watching. Well, so much for a morning (self) delight!
Jenny is in plaid-goth mode, on the phone being all project manager-y as Dan and Rufus watch on bemusedly. Oh, those stupid Italians! And I'm late! Where's my homework?! Goth Jen storms around all busy and important, leaving Dan feeling like an underachiever. Oh maybe you could come to the new gallery opening, son of mine? Mmmmaybe, dad. Jenny is so busy she forgets to pee, and bumps into shirtless Nate coming out of the bathroom. He likes her hair, she likes his chest, they part but are intrigued.
Blair, replete in lace, ribbons, and a polka-dot umbrella, is walking down the street as a limo pulls up -- would you like me to give you a ride? Of course, it's Chuck Bass. Bantering ensues -- get in, missy! Um, no! Don't torture me, Blair... get in. Just say those three magic words. Um, "I hate you" they're not, B! Limo drives off.
At Eleanor's atelier, supermodel Agnes is complimenting Jenny -- OMG, it's Caitlin Cooper from The O.C.! They are impressed with each other, but Jenny is too busy playing admin for Eleanor, who is not treating her as nicely as she could/should. But no worries, as Nate is here to drop off some important sketches or something. You are so nice, Bangs Boy! Mini-flirtation, which supermodel Agnes picks up on. Yes, he wants to do you!
Dan and Serena are at school, talking about boring economics, which gives way to it-was-really-nice-to-see you, which segues into Blair destroying everything: you two are pretending to be dysfunctional friends, while meanwhile I have to destroy Chuck Bass! Sighing ensues all around, until Dan realizes that Blair wants to sleep with Chuck, who won't give in... is that judgement in your voice, Brooklyn Boy? No judgement, only help! Say you love him, B -- you'll get him. No, I will lose, Dan! Dan offers Blair advice: make yourself available, he'll be drawn to you. Blair likes it, until she realizes Dan and Serena are being all nicey-nice. You guys make me nauseous!
Jenny! Eleanor needs you -- she's sorry about not inviting J to the meeting. It's all massive stressful -- they all want to know about next season... which could be your dress, Jenny! Hmmm... Eleanor needs to show the big stores something tomorrow. Maybe.... my dress, Eleanor? If you insist! Make your dress in my fabrics, and you will be famous! Do it! Tonight! Ummm.... I better get to it, says sad yet excited jenny.
Blair is loitering on Chuck's limo -- want to get a drink? Three little words, B? Then no drink! Um, Blair has different ideas, and gauntlets are thrown. The game is on (again)!
Wow -- Chuck has agreed to have a drink. Can't we be friends, Mr. Bass? I need a new signature scent -- care to help out? Necks are smelled, and they smell like desperation! Ouch, B -- she stumbles but then spills her drink on Chuck's crotch. Can I clean that? Um, I'm bored, Blair. Good night. Ouch redux!
Serena is at the gallery looking for Dan -- sensitive brunette guy in glasses working on the gallery exhibit is taken with blonde S. Read the gallery intro? You might be the only one! S doesn't know art, but she knows spelling... she's totally teasing him! Laughs are had, and flirting it seems. I am Serena... I am Aaron. Oh, Aaron the artist? Oh, interesting!
Vanessa and Dan are prepping as Dan's phone rings.. Dan, why is Blair calling you? Have to take this, V! Blair is upset, disgusted, humiliated. No hard evidence (har har) of Chuck being interested. Dan says he's headed only to one place -- intercept, B!
Serena and Aaron are totally having fun and laughing it up, sincerely. You'll have to come to my opening, S. Dan walks in -- er, awkward. But S gives Aaron "the look" -- is it on?
Jenny is out with Agnes -- another drink? You made that dress? Love it! Slo-mo ensues as Agnes and J come out, having switched outfits, with Agnes wearing the Eleanor-adored dress. They're out to make a scene! A fun one!
Dan and Serena are (again) decompressing like goody-good friends... as the phone rings. Is Blair texting me? Again? Just get Chuck and leave me alone, ok?
Chuck is home, and spies an open door, with candles and music. It's Blair in Serena's room, being all seduction-y. It's a sleepover Chuck - go away! It's pointless! And.... Mr. Bass falls for it, as music swells... just as the phone rings.... again.... and again. Chuck grabs it, and sees B's machinations with S. You almost had me!
Jenny and Agnes are partying it up in a strangely wholesome way. Stop taking my picture, Agnes' cute friend! Fraught looks are had, but J has to get back to work. No, you have to meet these girls, they work for all the cool mags! Say hi for five mins, totes! Eleanor will kill me... sorry, can't. J turns her back just as Agnes departs.. hey, I need my dress! Uh, oh... what will Jenny do without her fab dress for Eleanor?
(OMG - Twilight is coming out soon!)
Next morning -- Jenny's slaving over a sewing machine. Agnes comes in, totally apologetic, with words of advice: don't give this dress to Eleanor. You are a star! Hmmm... supermodel is strangely logical. And look, Jenny -- you are all over the internet. This could be an ad campaign, and you could be a star designer. It could work. Don't be Eleanor's slave!
Blair and Serena arrive in Brookly at the gallery -- maybe B will listen to you, Dan! Blair and Dan are thrown together as S goes to make eyes at sensitive artist Aaron (in a scarf now to complement the glasses). Can I help with the installation?
B and D are having a tete-a-tete as Dan realizes.... do you really love him? Wow, you do! Someone loves Chuck Bass! Blair is confused, Dan commiserates. If it's worth it, you will know. And you would do it all over again. You have to take the leap, Blair -- take a risk and maybe have everything.
At Eleanor's, Jenny presents her dress. Eleanor is pleased, and Jenny wants to stay, but.... Ms. Waldorf is brushing off her young protege! And insulting her! I saw you at that trashy bar, Jenny, and as a result, your work has suffered. Accept real responsibility, J! Uh oh -- Jenny will have no more of it! Turns out I am designing your best dresses, and you are afraid the buyers will want me and not you, old lady! I'm going to fire you -- no, I'm going to quit! Come back on Monday after you've cooled down, little girl.
OK, Eleanor -- but I want my dress. The hot green one that made your fashion show a success... Take that dress, missy, and you will not come back. Silent Goth Jenny walks up, grabs the famed dress, and walks out. Oh, suh-nap!
Blair, meanwhile, is desperate for Chuck's pants, and sends him a text. "You win. Tonight." Chuck is smirked.
(Nate is in that bad horror movie, did you know?)
At Rufus' gallery, Aaron's show is a success. Congrats, Dad! Um, why are Serena and Blair here again? Awkward father-son banter ensues. Serena is happy for Aaron, while Blair looks... miserable. Help us, Brooklyn Boy -- drinks?
Vanessa is pissed that Blair is around, and Dan tries to apologize. V will have none of it, and reads Dan to filth. Dan is shocked at the Chuck-Blair-V shenanigans, and is contrite. Ouch, V! Sorry!
Aaron, in scarf minus glasses, asks Serena what she thinks. She likes, he is being awkward-cute... can I ask you out? Dinner? Um... sorry, not dating right now (as she spies Dan). He makes chocolate eyes at her, and gives her a second chance. I could be yours!
OMG - Blair is excited! Chuck will meet her on the roof! Wish me luck! Dan waylays her on the way up... be careful, B! Wait, you told me to take a risk, Brooklyn Boy.... what is up? Wow, Dan is sowing seeds of doubt. But will it work?
Goth Jenny shows up to the opening, and Agnes is there! I want to hear about what went down with Eleanor -- but wait, J, the editor of Nylon wants to do a feature on you too. Jenny laments that she is an out-of-work 15 year-old home schooler now, not exactly hot stuff.
No, J -- do your own clothing line. Agnes will model them, they will get photo'd, and we will make it work! Jenny is cautiously excited, and runs into Nate. Can we hang? J gives him the 411, and she wants to start her own line. What does Rufus think? J is dubious of Bangs Boy and his logical questions about starting her own business. You are making me frowny-face, Nate! I have to go!
Blair finally meets Chuck on the roof - you have something to say to me, Blair? Yes... this is so silly! Why don't we say it together? Not the deal, B! Say it! Now Blair unloads... honest emotions are being shown, but Chuck thinks it's a game. Who will win? Blair is teary-eyed, Chuck is stewing in his angry juices.... everybody loses!
Nate introduces himself to Aaron the artist... can you tell me about Agnes and her friend, Max? Aaron says don't let photo boy date your little sister. Nate is concerned for Jenny now!
Blair stumbles in, looking for Serena. It was a disaster, S! I have to get out of here! S finds Dan -- they have it out, as he sabotaged Blair and Chuck, and S is pissed, despite whatever happened with Vanessa. I am disappointed in you, Brooklyn Boy! And angry.
At Max the photog's, Jenny is the awkward third wheel as Agnes and Max make out -- well, Jenny, maybe the party is here, with the three of us! Agnes is trying to get Jenny to dance, and maybe more? Uh oh!
Dan finds Chuck -- yes, you and Blair are my business now! Blair loves you, and she was going to tell you, Chuck, until I stopped her. Chuck is glowering now.
At Max's, clothes are coming off -- OMG, Agnes! No! It's weird! Do it too, Jenny! Get back at Eleanor! (We don't follow that logic, either) Agnes and Jenny pose in bras, as there's a knock at the door. It's good old Nate! He totally disapproves, too!
(Did you know Vanessa Anne Hudgens loves Neutrogena product? It's true!)
Bangs Boy is totally playing older brother -- I'm not leaving with you, Nate? Then I can wait, Jenny! J huffs, gets her clothes, and the two stalk off. Party over!
Dan catches up to Serena -- I'm totally sorry! And I want us to be friends! We have to be honest -- let's talk. In that case, Dan, you should know that Aaron asked me out, and I wanted to say yes, but didn't. Dan is stymied for a sec, but recovers -- you two have my blessing. Serena babbles, and then... OMG, she went to camp with him! In Europe! They were totally married, as small children, with candy! There's a past! Serena giggles. I have to go find him! Do you mind, Dan? He sends her off, nicely but a bit sadly.
S spies Artist Aaron as he's leaving... with a cute brunette (not Vanessa) and they speed off on his motorcycle. (Yes, they're wwearing helmets) S is disappointed.
Blair is at home, moping in the mirror, as Chuck (!) walks in. Here to gloat, Mr. Bass? I didn't win, Blair... the reason we can't say those three words, Blair, is because they're not true. And when we do say them, it will be the end of something, not the beginning. We'll become a boring couple, movies and holding hands. And it would only be a matter of time before we mess it all up. Chuck would rather wait.... Blair sadly agrees, and there could be some "excruciating pleasure" in that.
And then... they kiss! Blair sheds a single tear, Chuck leaves. Oh, the agony!
Meanwhile, Jenny is screaming at Nate -- how could you do that?! I know what I'm doing, Nate! Why do you care so much? Because... I do, J. And she moves in for the kiss. He doesn't respond initially, she's embarrassed and turns aways... just as he pulls her back for more! Total make-out action in Brooklyn! Little J got her happily-ever-after, after all.
