- Spongebob and Patrick try to help out their neighbor Squidward by spraying him with Kelp-Grow, a substance Squidward used to help his kelp garden in his front yard. While doing "good deeds" for Squidward and other citizens of Bikini Bottom, Spongebob and Patrick accidentally spray Squidward too much with the Kelp-Grow, causing him to grow to extreme heights. Spongebob and Patrick call him a "giant lumbering monster" and then try to play "giant lumbering monster tag". Squidward runs into town, where he is soon confronted by the town. He is now seen as a monster by the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom, but a little boy suggests that he may be a nice monster. Squidward then tries to prove himself by doing things for citizens, such as teaching someone's grandmother how to read. But when someone in the crowd of citizens around Squidward sneezes, Squidward doesn't say "bless you." The citizens take this as a major offense, and chase Squidward down the street, where he hides behind a building and pretends to be a lamp post. He soon goes home and finds a trap around his house. Seeing as he can't go home, he tries to sleep outside, but finds Spongebob and Patrick sleeping inside his belly button. Squidward tells them that they ruined his life. Realizing that Squidward didn't like what they had done to him, Spongebob and Patrick build Squidward a giant clarinet. As he plays the clarinet, Squidward shrinks back down to his normal size. Lamenting about the fact that he is too small to play his giant clarinet, he realizes that he still has his other source of joy, his kelp garden. But Squidward soon becomes angry again when Spongebob confesses that he and Patrick used Squidward's kelp garden to make a "kelp- machie" clarinet. The episode concludes with Squidward chasing after the two angrily.
