Is Keke Palmer ready to step away from Hollywood? Not quite yet, but the 30-year-old Emmy-winning actress has said that “the timer has started” and retirement “is around the corner.” Speaking to Teen Vogue in a recent interview, the host of NBC’s Password said of potential retirement, “I don’t know. I think the timer has started. I think it’s because I just haven’t felt it yet. But the timer, I know that it’s around the corner. I don’t know when exactly, but it’s around the corner.” Palmer recently received a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for her role on Password, becoming the first woman in 15 years to win in that category. She previously won an Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for her Facebook Watch series Turnt Up with the Taylors. She...

Two-time Emmy winner Keke Palmer is boarding Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut, Good Fortune at Lionsgate, which also stars the Parks & Recreation alum, Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen.
Palmer was originally set to star in Ansari’s previous directorial debut at Searchlight, Being Mortal, before that movie was shut down by the studio over alleged inappropriate conduct by star Bill Murray. Palmer, in the wake of that experience, had nothing but praise for Ansari when Deadline spoke to her at the Nope premiere in summer 2022.
“I had a wonderful time filming,” Palmer told us at Nope. “Aziz Ansari is one of the coolest people that I ever met. That was the coolest experience, but I don’t know anything more than that.”
Her role in Good Fortune is under wraps. Ansari writes, directs, and stars in the comedy; which is produced by Anthony Katagas, Alan Yang and Ansari, and...

Keke Palmer has broken through the game show host boys’ club.
Palmer won the Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for NBC’s Password – the first time that the category has been part of the primetime Emmys after moving from the daytime awards.
She beat Jeopardy!’s hosts Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik, Family Feud’s Steve Harvey and Wheel of Fortune’s Pat Sajak.
Palmer becomes the first woman to win the award since 2009 when Meredith Vieira won for the syndicated run of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Harvey won last year and Alex Trebek won the three years prior to that.
“Wow. That is so exciting thank you so much. I’m really just so thankful, I’m almost speechless. I want to thank the people who allowed this to happen, thank you to Jimmy Fallon, thank to NBC,” she said.
Palmer also thanked Carol Burnett,...

For the first time since the category was introduced in 1974, the Emmy for outstanding game show will be handed out at the primetime ceremony, having graduated from the daytime counterpart as part of a realignment of categories between the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (which presents the daytime awards) and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (which distributes the primetime awards). The syndicated hits Family Feud, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will face off against NBC’s That’s My Jam and CBS’ The Price Is Right.
Awards prognosticators can turn to the history of the category to assess which competitive show could take home the inaugural primetime prize. Jeopardy! holds the records for the most wins (18) and the most nominations (38) and has won for best game show in the past three years. It also notably earned the most noms for a game show this season, with Mayim Bialik...
