BBC America is doubling down on “Top Gear.”
The network is adding an American version of its popular car and racing show to its lineup that still includes the original British “Top Gear,” now in its 24th season. “Top Gear America” will premiere later this year with eight hour-long episodes.

As with the original, “Top Gear America” will be presented by a trio of hosts that include “The Dark Knight” actor, car nut and competitive racer William Fichtner; world champion drag racer Antron Brown and premier British automative journalist Tom “Wookie” Ford. (Incidentally, that is a misspelled reference to the “Star Wars” race of Wookiee.)
Ford is extending his relationship to the “Top Gear” brand and BBC America. He is currently the Associate Editor of Top Gear Magazine, and contributes to both TopGear.

The BBC has finally made an official announcement regarding the future of Top Gear, with DJ Chris Evans becoming the show's new lead host.
Following Jeremy Clarkson's departure, it also looks as if James May and Richard Hammond will not be returning, although this has yet to be officially confirmed.
Evans has said that a female co-host will "definitely" be joining him, but who is in line for one of the biggest TV shows in the world? Here's a list of potential options tipped by bookmakers and fans alike.
1. Jodie Kidd
One of the most popular choices at the bookies, Kidd is a good friend of Clarkson and the Top Gear team, and knows her stuff when it comes to motors.
Primarily known for her modelling work before a career in TV, she is a keen motor racer and has taken part in the Gumball 3000 several times. At one stage,...

Jeremy Clarkson could well be coming back to Top Gear - as a Lego minifigure.
A Lego Ideas user is trying to drum up support for a Top Gear-inspired set, in the hope of turning their proposal into a future official product.
The collection would include all three ex-hosts (Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond) and The Stig, as well as two camera crew members.
The 540-piece set would also include Top Gear studio pieces, such as a Broken Toyota Hilux with stand, Top Gear billboard and a Power Lap board with lap times.
Creator FisheeC6 also suggests that the set could be co-branded with Lego Speed Champions if made a reality.
The idea currently has 1,056 supporters, with 534 days left to reach its review target of 10,000.
Clarkson recently said that he's missing working on Top Gear every day.
"[Top Gear] was very much my baby and I absolutely adored it and...

As if Idris Elba had to prove any further that he'd make a perfect James Bond. The dashing British actor broke the U.K. land-speed "flying mile" record on Sunday, averaging 180.4 miles per hour and topping out at 186.4 miles per hour while driving on a beach in Wales. While the stunt certainly seemed tailor-made for Top Gear (which will supposedly be returning to the BBC in 2016 after giving Jeremy Clarkson the boot), it was actually for the upcoming Discovery Channel series Idris Elba: No Limits. And Bentley was of course happy to share the credit, the Luther star having crushed the previous record of 174.2 miles an hour in a Bentley Continental Gt Speed. Bentley says that the car was...

It’s rare when two of the best shows on TV combine, but that’s exactly what happened recently as Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul went on Top Gear to chat with Jeremy Clarkson. Turn 10 Studios Forza Motorsport 4
Forza Motorsport 4 from Turn 10 Studios is a rare crossover game, one that will appeal to both motorheads and the casual gamer, alike. I daresay that some casual gamers may even turn into motorheads, thanks to the rich, yet easy-to-digest, detail in this Xbox 360-only game.
Forza 4, the latest in the highly successful series from Turn 10 and the chief rival to the PlayStation 3’s Gran Turismo franchise. The three earlier versions sold over 10 million copies, and are known for their realism,...
