Good but not great

Mort shouldn't be the type to be hanging around Brian and Stewie's time machine. He feels too much like a minor character to me.

All the episodes featuring the time machine or dimension changer machine are good.

It's kind of fun seeing this whole thing play out.

It's immersive because, they are actually speaking German in Germany.

Superb !

Warning: Spoilers
You have Stewie and Brian as the main characters, WW II, Hitler, Churchill, war, big oil, and baby boomer references throughout. What else could they do ? Oh yeah, several definitely non-politically correct references to Jews, Poles, Germans, the British and Republicans. I have to explain this episode, (and many others), to friends of mine who should get it, but, don't. Such as,'not so good with the atomic bomb, but, much better with 100 Luft Balloons', (one bursts), 'oh, damn'. Also, as the goofs point out, the British Lancaster heavy bomber depicted didn't hit the skies till 1942, but, I recognized it as a Lancaster in the show. Animation doesn't get much better. BTW, it's only a cartoon.

One of my favourite family guy episodes!

Absolutely hilarious! This is 100% my joint favourite road to.. episode (road to to the multiverse obviously being the other). The whole episode just had me in stitches, it was so unapologetically un-politically correct which I think just made it even more hilarious. I saw the uncensored verson and I definitely it made it funnier to watch so I would recommend watching it uncensensored if possible!

The One In Nazi Germany...

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is so funny. I used to think that all the 'Road To' episodes were boring, but once they introduced the time machine as a main factor, the episodes got a lot better.

In this episode, whilst having a game night at The Griffans' house, Mort Goldman needs to use the bathroom. Mistaking the time machine for a porter-poty, he goes inside to use it. Stewie and Brian see the time machine in use, and travel to find Mort. It turns out that Mort had travelled to Nazi-invaded Poland and they must rescue him in time, before he is captured by Adolf Hitler. At one point, Stewie dresses up as Hitler to distract guards. It's so funny, and I want to know something. Wouldn't everyone know that Hitler was at at least five feet tall, not a foot tall, as Stewie is. Anyway, I'm over thinking it. In the end, they save Mort and convince him that it was all a dream.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.

A surprising gem

Most of this episode is standard "Family Guy", but I can't watch the first few minutes of the Polish segment without tearing up.

In all that has been created to try and capture the horror of the Holocaust, the opening time- travel scene of the festive Polish Jewish wedding on September 1, 1939 being interrupted by arriving German Stuka bombers is the best. With a few images and a handful of words, the enormity of the crime is brought home to me.

Your mileage may vary of course, but that scene is sublime.

The rest of the episode is O.K., but not really much to write home about.

What The Hell, Macfarlane?
MairegChernet20 October 2008
What the hell is wrong with macfarlane and crew? Where's family guy going? The show I once loved and was addicted to is headed to the deep hole of boredom. This is, I think, the 4th "road to..." episode, and the worst one too. The episode from beginning to end is very predictable and boring.nothing unexpected and outrageous happens. there were a couple of laugh out loud moments, and the political satire is not as strong anymore. Lets hope season seven gets better, because that was unbelievably crappy. I give it a 5 and not a 1 because of the overall reputation of the show, and for the fact that stewie and Brian, my favorite two characters, had the most screen time. other than that this episode was the worst of season seven, and i am just hoping the whole season is not going to be like that.
